Hello Steemit community, a quick introduction the name is Azizul and my friends usually calls me joi and it kinda stuck with me. 19 years old boy lives at Malaysia and currently still a student at Multimedia University. Been starts to draw and doing art sruff at 13 years old and still counting. Its my first time writing stuff like this and I hope Steemit will become a platform where I can freely share my artworks and gain irreplaceable experiences for the future gain.

So for my first post Im gonna make a tutorial steps by steps how to make a digital potrait using Adobe Illustrator. Below is the final result. Make sure you read carefully and if you got any question just ask away. Lets get to business then shall we?

First step among all is to get yourself ready in mind and body because the process is pretty tiring for the first timer but I guarantee you the hardworks will pay off in the end. I work on A4 size horizontal paper.

Beautiful isnt she? Back to track. The very first shape is very difficult because it gonna shapes up how the rest will looks like. Make sure the first impression is the best.

Yayy we already done the first shape. Congratulation. Afterwards is gonna be easy because we have the foundation and just follow the flow then. Don’t think too hard of how the shapes looks like just freely explore. Quick reminder make sure you change the outline colour to something more contrast to help you see which area you don’t cover yet.

For me, I like to cover the eyes first then works the rest of the part. Different peoples have differents opinions where to start so go at your own pace. Remember the early process is pretty but don’t give up.

Yayy we already finish cover the whole face. Its gonna looks weird if we leave as it is. So make I start doing for the tudung. (If you guys wanna see how I deal with hair let me know in the comment).

Okay. We halfway done. From here onwards we do not need the reference anymore so you can put aside the pictures.

Before we starts with the colouring, make sure you already the prepare ranged of colour to make it easier for you to choose the colour. Prepared from the lightest tone to darkest tone. Lets start put the colour to this artwork.

You need to understand a little bit about where parts at our face is the darkest, less dark and bright. If you already understand this concept then you are good to go. You don’t have to follow exact brightness just make sure put the right tone at the dominant part. Then follow up the next shape with other colours. Make sure do not put same colours at the collided shapes. (its quite scary when you keep looking at this if you works at night alone XD). This steps is pretty relaxing just pick a shape and choose a colour. Then repeat it.

Repeat some more.

And Okay we already done with the face and continue with the tudung.

Here is the end results of all that steps. Feels good man. After you finished with fill in the inside colours, you can change the outline to any colour you like. I choose black because it blends with the other colours really well.
