Every country has some important festivals, special days of those festivals are special times we all people of the country irrespective of caste and religion celebrate every year with great joy.

Steemit Engagement Challenge-s17w3 : National Festibal

This season 17 Week 3 of the Steemit Engagement Challenge, we are asked about our national festival and how it makes us special so through this challenge I will try to answer questions challenging my clear opinion.

What is the national festival of your country? How it started

The national festival of Bangladesh generally refers to joyous festival celebrated in religious, social and traditional context .This festival can be celebrated internationally or socially and nationally some are celebrated religiously and some politically .However, as a result of the evolution of time, some of these festivals have changed their form, some have disappeared and some have been created in a new way, such as the #Pahela-Boishakh festival traditionally celebrated by Bengalis. But at the root of all festivals is joy and joy.

Muslims, Hindus, Christians and Buddhists live in Bangladesh of different religions and there are people of different small ethnic groups in different hill districts .There's festival variation as well .

Such as-

  • Muslim religious festivals Eid-ul-Azha and Eid-ul-Fitr.
  • Hindus have Durga Puja and various festivals .
  • Buddhist full moon of Buddhists and Christian Christmas and Easter Sunday .
  • Sangrai of Rakhines and Biju festival of Chakmas in hill districts. There are also other types of festivals .

Liberation war took place in Bangladesh in 1971 to achieve independence to save the country and its people from subjugation . Again there was a language movement in 1952 demanding Bengali as the national language . Many people of Bengal have gained independence at the cost of their lives in the liberation war and language movement, so special days are celebrated every year on special days of Bangladesh in their memory .

Such as-

  • Martyrs' Day,
  • Independence Day,
  • Martyred Intellectuals Day and
  • Victory Day .

On national festival days in our country we have public and private holidays that day .
President and Prime Minister deliver speeches on the occasion of every national festival and highlight the significance of celebrations on every day
.

Martyrs' Day

  • On February 21, 1952, the student society started a movement to establish Bengali as the state language in Bengali, the mother tongue, and when the Pakistani government opened fire on the students' march, Salam Barkat Rafiq Jabbar was martyred. To honor the Bengali language and the martyrs, from that day till today February 1st is officially celebrated as Martyr's Day as National Festival or Martyr's Day .

Shaheed Minar has been constructed in various educational institutions and offices, courts and places to honor the honor. Every year on this day of February 1st, garlands of flowers are placed in the central Shaheed Minar installed near Dhaka Medical College, both public and private, to honor the martyrs .

Independence Day

Independence Day is celebrated on March 26 every year since 1972. On this day in 1971, the struggling Bengalis broke the chains of subjugation from the groups of the Pakistani invading forces and won the war. Independence as the only Bengali nation achieved independence by winning a long nine-month war .To celebrate this day with due dignity every year through various programs nationally public and private with joy . Wreath laying at Savar National Memorial to honor martyred freedom fighters at sunrise . Besides, various cultural programs are organized on the occasion of Independence Day in various educational institutions and private institutions.

Especially on February 1st, mourning day is observed, so on that day the national flag is at half-mast and everyone wears black and white clothes and offers flower garlands barefoot at Shaheed Minar to pay respect to the martyrs.

Tell us about your favorite memories from celebrating your national festival।

Our national festivals are every year that day is a memorable that is written in the pages of history . Which we remember and observe every year.

Various national festivals used to organize cultural programs on different nights and day sports around that day . Every occasion I attended and performed patriotic and solo music . Participating got a prize every time.

I have a very nice memory I shared that memory on the occasion of Pahela Boishakh. Usually we wear white and red sarees early in the morning with garlands of flowers in khopa and go to Ramnabotmule to watch cultural events and cheer all day long. But it's too late to go to my ramnapark that year .I left home for Ramana around ten in the morning but I went to Ramana Park that day . Due to the crowd we were in TSC premises of Dhaka University.

When my friend and I came home after wandering around all day, I saw on TV news channels that there was a bomb in the early hours of the morning. Many people died instantly at that spot and were hospitalized .I was absolutely amazed by the news that I don't know so many people died here in the morning, bombs exploded. And if I had gone there early in the morning, maybe I would have had to come back as a corpse. Many public and private political people died that day .

Many have their hands and feet blown off, eyes and body burning . I still feel what that terrible day was.

I can't forget about this day. Bomb blast at Chayanot's New Year festival in 14 April,2001 at Batmule in Ramna .

Bangladesh has a national festival which can be religious, traditional, socially, democratic based and all these festivals are celebrated with great joy among its citizens. National celebrations are a time where people gathered in their numbers to celebrate. And it is worthy of Celebrating irrespective of your religious background, whether you are a Muslim or a Christian. It's nice to be a part of the celebration. And different types of sumptuous meals would be used for the celebration.
