Dreaming Of Gardening Again
(Growing spinach)
I miss my garden & being able to garden in those summer months. This was our humble little garden at our old house & while we have more space at our new home, we have rabbits. Giant jack rabbits & so I'm not sure how to go about gardening with our little friends hopping all over the place. Anyone have experience with gardening & rabbits?
(The huz all happy with our little spot of Heaven & sporting The Steelers of course)
(Me sporting the high pony tail & cheesy smile)
(Pesky weeds sprouting up!)
(Pea collection... so good just eating them fresh from the garden)
Gardening isn't necessarily easy work, even with a small garden. You have to stay on top of weeding & watering or things go south very fast. However, it is enjoyable work & always very satisfying. I love the feeling of the sun on my back as I'm weeding, or seeing the water droplets on each leaf. I love the bright green colors & oh man the taste. The food we have grown always tastes so much better than anything we've ever bought at the store. The flavor is incredible & worth every minute spent tending to the garden. If you've ever been debating whether or not you should start a little garden, I encourage you to just do it!
Few things in life are still simple & done by our own hands these days & it forces you to get outside & connect with nature some more. You get some nice vitamin D in the process & the satisfaction of food you grew with your own hands. What could be better??
Do you have a garden? What do you grow in it?

I have a fairly large garden and i breed rabbits as well. I like to let a rabbit loose once in a while in the garden to just munch around for a while, so i built a rabbit tractor. Now i can put a few rabbits out in the field in the tractor and let them munch... i have decided that either this year or next i will keep the buck and does separated in outdoor "rabbitats" lol... this will allow them to have a larger area to run and rabbit around, problem is that i lose the ability to harvest the poop... which i need here in AR... But awesome garden...
oh wow! That's truly incredible. I clearly have a lot to learn. I just don't want the rabbits to eat everything I'm growing, but if I understand you correctly, if I allow them space & a little "habitat" they won't eat as much of my garden?? I'm at a loss here haha.
