Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, is the second game of Valkyrie Profile. It was released in 2006 for the PS2 console and was developed by tri-Ace and published by Square Enix. Although it is the second game, the story comes before the first one. The story is located one hundred years before the time of Valkyrie Lenneth (from which the first game is based).

The Valkyrie Silmeria is given the special task by the Odin himself to collect the souls of all those who have fallen in battle. Silmeria was excellent at what she did until one day, a certain event made her doubt about her work and reveal herself to Odin. For the Valkyries, revealing oneself can be a dangerous thing and although Silmeria knew this, she decided to do it. Odin had no choice but to transmigrate Silmeria's soul. Transmigration is a process in which he freezes the soul of the Valkyrie in another body until he decides to do so.

However, the ritual was not completed and Silmeria's soul remains awake inside the body of a young princess named Alice. Both know the risk for the people that the soul of a Valkyrie remains awake inside the body where it should be imprisoned. Odin could release his wrath so that the greatest secrets do not come to light. Due to this, Alice decides to escape from the castle against all odds.

Battle system: my favorite part

The game is developed in 2d style, the whole adventure of exploring each map will be in 2 dimensions, but the battle will be different. This is performed in a battlefield completely in 3D and in real time. The battle system uses the ATC or advanced tactical combination, not only your characters will be static waiting for some order or certain movements, but you will have to move them around the field and attack in a very fun way.

In the battle system we have the APs or points of attack, which are necessary for attacks, rapid moves and more. These points are earned or regained when you are attacked, walk on the battlefield or time passes. You must arm your strategy well, but if I tell you that the battle is extremely fun.

All the characters move at the same time, as a group and when you attack, you can make all 4 of them attack at the same time since each character is assigned to a button and depending on the skills they have equipped, they perform a number of attacks and when all of them are combined, you will see the enemies burn. The better you manage to chain attacks, you will complete a power bar that when reaching 100%, you will be able to launch special attacks. The battle system is really cool and fun and you'll want to spend a lot of time in combat.

A fun part of this battle system is that you can join another player and work together to string attacks. I really recommend this game, its history, a simple 2D exploration, a very fun battle system, will make you spend several hours of fun.
