I didn't know that animals like horses could be used for farming until I found myself in the northern part of Nigeria and saw things for myself. It was in 2022 that I saw how horses are used for farming both in mechanized farming and pestle farming.
Almost everyone in the community has a horse, which they use for farming. They use horses both in tilling of hips and harvesting of farm products. When it comes to tilling of hips, there is something they would put on a horse, which would then begin to gather sand together as the horse keeps moving.
Also, besides using horses to gather sand for planting, horses are used for cultivation and carrying loads to the farm and house. When it comes to farming in the northern part of Nigeria, horses serve as motors and tractors for farming.
The reason why I said so is because a motor horse is what farmers use in conveying themselves to the farm and back home.
Now, as a tractor, horse is used for cultivation, digging, and a lot more. The use case of horses on the farm is large. The good thing about horses in farming is that they can pass through narrow roads and cross water, and it is very strong in conveying someone.
Horses are special animals in the northern part of Nigeria that aren't only used for transportation but for farming. In the southern part of Nigeria, it is rare to see horses, but in the northern part of Nigeria, like in Taraba state, horses are found almost everywhere because of how useful it is to farmers.
