Trump Considers Military Options In Venezuela - Why This Is A Terrible Idea
In this video, I talk with @John-Doull regarding the recent developments out of the White House as President Trump says military options against Venezuela are on the table.
Venezuela has seen vast hyperinflation, absolute socialist totalitarianism and unthinkable poverty. After the sham election, people are even more riled up than before and rightly so. Maduro is locking up his opponents, activists are dying in the streets and people are waiting in long bread lines.
Despite how terrible of a place socialist utopia Venezuela currently is, military intervention would just result in repeats of what we saw under Operation Condor in Chile and Argentina. Every country the US intervenes in ends up worse off.
Trump said,
"We have many options for Venezuela, this is our neighbor. We’re all over the world and we have troops all over the world in places that are very very far away, Venezuela is not very far away and the people are suffering and dying. We have many options for Venezuela including a possible military option if necessary.”
Yes Donald, we know Venezuela isn't very far away and other places are...
This interventionist approach by Trump completely conflicts with his election promises of diplomacy instead of interventionism.
Trump has also recently refused to take phone calls from Maduro.
H. R. McMaster has disputed these claims which is odd but there does seem to be some talk of intervention.
John and I break down what this all means and why this can lead to serious problems.
Good post. US needs to stay out of Venezuela. We are not nation building and are not the worlds policeman. Venezuela dug its grave when Chavez was voted in. They will need a civil war to recover their own country. Sorry to be brutal, but that is the only outcome that resolves the issues.
Hey joshsigurdson,
Thanks for sharing
I hope not, will make it worse and more people dead.
Agreed!
Not worth it. Socialism will fall on its own, and Venezuela is not far from collapsing. That should give the people there enough incentive to 'see the light', so to speak.
Besies, who is the government to use other people's money to wage war abroad?
Agreed!
Somehow we have enough money to pay for nation building, but we don't have enough money to pay the $20 trillion debt and $200 trillion of unfunded liabilities. Where's the logic? I guess the US is really an oil company with a military.
Maybe the manufacturers of medical supplies made a generous donation or promised to return factories to the USA so now Trump has to make more Wars to produce more injured soldiers to be cared for. Just saying.
Nah, they need to ship Bernie down there to see the fruits of his philosophy and let him talk to the people about how good it really is.......Yeah...right
Yes, fly Bernie down there first class, but leave the sucker there. He can run for president down there.
new week, new country targeted for potential military terrorism, c'mon
Military options against acountry that never attacked the United States of America. Socialists or not this would be aggression and illegal. Nations must be allowed to run their own affairs without outside meddling, isnt that what hypocrite USA has been telling Putin and co?
Politicians following the law. That's funny. They know how to write them, just not how to follow them.
If it were simple like the CIA supported capitalism and were fighting against the Socialist Party International spreading socialism everywhere, that would be one thing. But the CIA helps the Socialist Party International set up these dictatorships along with the other fascist ones they set up, and then enemies can be drawn out of a hat.
More like capitalism considers military options
Exactly how is government involvement in another government "capitalism"? lol
upvoted! Hi. this is for all of you. An important thing that you should know.
