⛵ ⛵ ⛵ ⛵. . . "Tour of the Gulf of Aden". . . (cont.)

[Last time...]

The blow was a deadly one and the Jinn fell backward onto the ground, his scimitar flying from his hand and bouncing along the ground! Galligan kicked it far out of reach as he then held his sword tip under the chin of the defeated man!

“Surrender noo ye snake ur Ahh will rin ye through!" Galligan bellowed as the Jinn crawled and winced in pain before him as he held his badly injured leg!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It was all over for the Jinn of Aden. He laid on the ground a defeated man. Shuddering in pain from the deep wound in his leg and forearm, he waved off Commander Galligan’s assault with a feeble hand…

“No more…no more…I surrender!”

Galligan held his sword steady. The Jinn was no longer a threat but the fifty soldiers behind him were another matter. Galligan looked up and down the rows of men and as the early morning light began to light up the grounds, he noticed that none were moving forward.

“Except fur thes rogue...Ahh come in peace an' mean nae harm tae anyain ay th' City ay Aden..." Galligan said in a steady voice.

One large man stepped forward from the group. It was the Jinn’s head Commander of the army…

“I am Ghazi, Commander of the army of Aden.” He said as he slowly walked forward and looked down at the pathetic figure that once was his oppressive ruler, “You have freed us from this tyrant, and freed the people of Aden from his greedy oppression!”

Galligan and all of the crew breathed a sigh of relief at the words. Slowly sheathing his sword and slipping his dagger into his belt, Galligan held forth his hand. Ghazi shook it and then turned towards his men…

“Let the word be known far and wide…the Jinn of Aden is no longer Lord!” His deep voice bellowed out.

At first there was a murmur but soon it broke forth into a rousing chorus as the soldiers all cheered and hooted! Some came forward and spat on the ground near the Jinn and others sought to even behead him, but Ghazi stopped their advances with a wave of his hand…

“We will not kill an unarmed man! He will be dealt with as soon as his most loyal guards have been subdued!”

It was then that Galligan realized that the bulk of the Jinn’s army were citizens of Aden and that only the palace guards were absolutely loyal to the marauding oppressor. Turning back towards the platform and gazing up, the last twenty or so palace guards came rushing out into the early morning light.

Seeing their Lord laying helpless on the ground and bleeding, there seemed to be confusion on their faces. They were outnumbered and they had no escape. Their armada of warships were gone, along with Husam. There was no alternative but surrender and beg for mercy.

One by one they dropped their swords and stood quietly by the rail above.

“You men came to our city with evil in your hearts!” Ghazi began, “You followed this man’s orders and killed our beloved King!”

The soldiers yelled and screamed for vengeance but Ghazi once again held them back.

“You will be tried in a court of law! The people of Aden will decide your fate!” He continued.

Galligan then turned towards Ghazi and spoke his mind, “Commander, this rogue sent his warships against us in the Indian brine. My Captain was even wounded in the fight and I am here to take him prisoner of the Royal Scottish frigate Silverton!”

Ghazi stroked his beard a moment in thought before answering…”Perhaps it is just as well that you take him. His presence here will just ferment more anger and hatred and these misguided men may never get a fair trial as long he is present. Take him, and do what you will with him!”

Galligan nodded and turned back to his crew, “Seamen Errislravenhill and Yrstikken, find somethin' tae bin' his woonds. Ahh want heem alife when we stain heem afair th' Keptin!”

“Aye Sairrr!” “Aye, aye!”

Word of the end of the Jinn’s oppressive rule spread like wildfire through the city! There was yelling and singing, dancing and merrymaking and it seemed that within an hour, every last soul of Aden was awake and in the streets celebrating!

[On the Silverton…]

The Captain kept a careful eye on the city with his thirty inch scope as the early morning light began to brighten up the dark sky. But it wasn’t a natural light that caught his eye, it was the popping and flashing of hap-hazard fireworks, lighting up the sky over the rooftops that made him smile.

“Are they firing on us Sairr?!” Officer Fisky asked.
“Nae mucker, they're nae firin' oan us! Somethin' else is happenin' in th' stoatin City ay Aden, an' Ahh think Ahh ken whit it is!" The Captain said as he lowered his scope, “Man-up a longboat an' tak' one chest ay silvers oot ay th' hauld! It's been a guid lang time since Ahh've sauld onie shiny in Aden!"

A broad smile spread across the old man’s face as he saluted the captain and began barking out the orders…
Fisky-2.jpg
“Och and Sairrr…?” Fisky said as he turned, “Shoods Ahh sends a spyug ashair tae lit th' Commander ken wee’s in a new Sell Cycle?"
“Yoo dae 'at mate!"

[Back on the palace grounds…]

By now, the townsfolk were all flooding the gates of the palace grounds, calling out songs of victory and dancing with the soldiers! Sweets of every kind were being handed out and the crew joined in the merrymaking with glad hearts!

“Blye me! Whit a celebration!” Officer Andofzara exclaimed as he took a bite out of a sweet bread.
“Ye bit it is! Ahh’m glad 'att we didne lose a single cheil!" Officer Ickied replied.

Suddenly Groober came soaring in on a gentle morning breeze and landed on Errislravenhill’s shoulder!
Groober.1.jpg
“Bloody heel!” She barked in surprise as she gathered her whits and undid the big bird’s message.
“What's it say mucker?!" Galligan asked anxiously as he took a long drink of Aden ale…

“It says...” Errislravenhill began as she unrolled the message,

'Dear Commander Galligan, Ahh sense 'att victory is oors! Ahh've got a boat comin' ashair fur th' Jinn. Ye an' yer men bide put, wee's in th' middle ay a stoatin new sell cycle fur silvers, an' Aden is a prime markit! Nibble, Nibble, Nibble!' –Keptin"

“Blye me! A new sell cycle!” Galligan remarked with a smile as he scratched his head.
“Sellin' cycle? Ahh’m nae sellin' a thin shillin!” Errislravenhill replied steadfastly.

“Weel, ye can dae whit ye want, but th' Keptin’s chartwork is reit most ay th' time!" Galligan replied with a wink.

“Ahh hav tae admit 'att Ahh will sell a nibble tadays! Nae sae much a “spite” sell. Jist 'att it was a big move tadays oan top ay some other large up moves th' lest few days. Th' RSI jist jumped intae oversauld territory an' th' chance ay anither large up move in th’ moorn is reduced an' th' chance ay a quick correction is increasin' (thoogh Ahh expect it woods only be a wee correction). Och aye, pepper... but nae SLV thes time, raither NUGT which is a market-cap-weighted index ay gauld an' silver minin' firms. Though Ahh tend tae follaw th’ Keptin’s guidelines when tradin' it. Definitely carries mair risk, but also a stoatin reward!” Ickied reflected.
Mickied-2.jpg
Errislravenhill just rolled her eyes, “Gawd! He’s soondin' mair an' mair like auld Axwellsilver every day!"
