Striking a balance between self-love and self-reproof
We change jobs for better ones. We change cars, change clothes and/or change houses. Some even change partners but we forget the most important things that need to be changed. We hit the gym to keep our bodies in shape while our attitudes are overweight and sagging on the scale. Beautiful containers with bad contents.
We look in the mirror to apply make up or maybe to adjust our neck ties, but we forget to adjust our attitudes. We keep wearing clean clothes over a bad character. Painfully, we don't see this in the looking glass.
“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.” – Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
We all have bad character and weaknesses that hurt people around us and we get away with them. I’ve seen too many people walk away from the mess they created without a backward glance. We succeed at attracting people with our nice physique and repel them with the stuffs we're made of.
We concentrate on self-love these days and forgot about self-reprove. Its good to love oneself because a healthy self esteem will take you far in life but a bad character on the other hand will bring you down.
** It's wrong to keep passing clear character flaws as it's just the way I am. Life does not get better by chance. It gets better by "change".**
You're working so hard at loving yourself. Great job but you need to strike a balance. Examine yourself. Maybe your attitudes need more polishing than your shoes. Maybe your character needs more cleansing than your face. Accept your flaws, be brutally honest about them. Work on them and outgrow them.
Be a better you, first for you and for others...
