Definition Of Drug Abuse
In a lay man's terms, Drug Abuse is an excessive use of drugs without the doctor's prescription or advice. In other words, is the improper use of drugs without any medical advice. In most cases, Drug abuse is the use of illegal drugs in excessive amounts.
Effects Of Drug Abuse
Drug abuse is mostly seen in our youths nowadays. There are many effects that comes with drug abuse. Here are some reasons;
• Memory loss or problems.
• Reduced appetite, therefore causing such a person to not eating a balanced diet.
• Mood swings. When one uses drugs excessively, he or she starts to have changes in behavior such as increased aggression towards others, etc.
• Risky behaviors. When someone is drunk, such person gets to involved in risky acts such as drinking and driving, unprotected sex, etc.
• As a student, and you deal on drugs, it leads to poor grades, memory challenges, and low self- esteem.
Dangers Of Drug Abuse
There are many risks involved in the excessive use of drugs. They include;
• Lungs diseases.
• Memory or brain damage.
• Academic difficulties.
• Health problems, including the mental health.
• Poor peer relationships.
• Suicides, rapes, violence.
• Vehicle accidents.
• Death. This is a major point. Currently, on a packet of cigarette, it is godly written "Smokers are liable to die young". Our youths will still see this information on it, but they will go ahead to smoke cigarettes. This is the main reason why our youths keeps on dying at their early stage of life.
