100 Days of STEEM Challenge - Journalist for a Day
Local Journalist for a Day...
Where I am from there have been a lot of happenings as they relate to the coronavirus.
First, stores were shut down, we know this.
However, now they are starting to open things back up.
They are still trying to keep some of the same safe practices in place though.
For example, you have to stand at least 6 feet apart any place that has you wait in line. Be it the grocery store, the bank, the pharmacy, or even the local pizza joint.
They have all signs and stickers in place directing you where to stand.
I don't think opening things back up is the right move right now personally, but they are going ahead with it anyways.
Too many people are suffering economic hardships apparently for us to care about the risk it poses to a percentage of the population.
Anyways, some businesses near me are defying the orders all together and opening up completely.
They are mostly mom and pop stores that don't employee a lot of people.
The local police have already said they won't enforce the governors directive in terms of keeping them closed down, so there is a bit of stand off going on with those.
Things are going to get very interesting over the coming weeks though.
Hopefully the number of cases doesn't spike again and cause everything to be shut down once more.
What do you think @steemitblog?
Stay informed my friends.
