Now is probably a good time to talk to Coinbase about a STEEM listing...

Coinbase may be more open now than ever before to altcoin listings...

We need to keep the pressure on Coinbase for a STEEM listing.

It likely has never been easier for an altcoin to get listed on Coinbase than it is right now.

They recently released a new report talking about how based on their findings, bitcoin is predominately the gateway to the altcoin market at least in regards to retail investors.

According to their findings, the majority of their customers buy bitcoin initially, but from there, only 24% only continue to hold only bitcoin.

More than 75% tend to branch out into other assets.

Check it out:

Why does that matter?

It matters because now we know that Coinbase knows what the people want.

(I mean it's very likely they already knew, but now it's public knowledge that they know, which is a good thing)

It's a good thing for any crypto projects out there with an active user base that are looking at Coinbase for a listing.

Hmm... sounds a lot like STEEM.

Also they said this in their report which seems to hint that they know the value altcoins hold...

“To the extent we believe that alternative assets and networks will provide differentiated services (beyond store of value and digital gold as Bitcoin is targeting), it will be important for the industry to build support for these other assets as well.”

"Important for the industry to build support for these other assets?"

You don't say...

Sounds an awful lot like they will be looking for good altcoin projects to provide support for.

No reason ours can't be next.

Stay informed my friends.

Steem codebase is too buggy for Coinbase...

What do you mean?

For example, the account history bug... How can they track transactions if the node forgets last few hours...

If Binance can do it, I dont see why coinbase can't. Blockchain has come far enough to allow assets like steem to be on coinbase. steem is a gold mine that could potentially be a welcome gateway for newbies on coinbase. If steem can't be implemented on coinbase what is the point of blockchain technology and it's potential. coinbase + steem could be explosive for adoption. Like a puzzle with great reward.

Binance is not the only exchange that has Steem listed... However I have seen many exchanges take Steem wallet offline for long periods of time... Most likely reason for wallets being offline is that they were trying to get the software to work better by applying bug fixes and testing if those help.

Coinbase needs multiple dedicated nodes for each coin because of the user count and how their system works.

Don't forget there is coinbase pro which offers more advanced usage and with pairs. there are 2 coinbase that makes one, there is coinbase pro with assets and pairs not on coinbase basic. Would be nice to see coinbase support steem. They could create a support line here on steem, marketing, delegated proof of stake ? can they run a witness node ? correct me if i am wrong. If those are possible i don't see why shouldn't be going after it. social platforms hold more value to exchanges if they don't know it yet. more satisfied clients should equal more value for them.

I'm using Coinbase Pro myself because it has no network fees even when sending to external wallets.
