Road Trip to Busay: Perfect Weekend Getaway
Whether you’re up for an adventure or simply want a quick break from stress at work, going to a road trip with friends is the perfect weekend treat.
That is exactly what we did with my workmates on one fine Saturday morning as we took this spur-of-the-moment uphill ride to Busay and Balamban. After our shift, we instantly agreed to hang out somewhere that led to this unplanned adventure. So we went off without bothering to outline any things-to-do-list.
Once aboard and running, we were amazed of how beautiful the scenic mountain ranges, lush greenery, and cultivated fields. We had our first stop on a roadside to take photos while savoring the fresh air from the morning breeze. We took groufies with matching effect out from the mystic sun rays. We then looked for a place for breakfast and much to our delight we found a local eatery serving ‘puto maya’ (rice cake) and hot choco. We immediately ordered and satisfyingly filled our empty stomach.
Our joy ride brought us to this new attraction in Gaas, Balamban that made our next stop more interesting. Dubbed as 'Cebu’s Little Tagaytay', Florentino’s Eco Park has a very cozy ambiance, breathtaking view and foggy weather. There are native huts built on the hillside enough to fit a group of family and friends. Anyone can enjoy viewing the misty mountains while hanging out in one of those countryside huts. The place is perfect for anyone who wants to chill and spend a great deal of leisure time at only 50php entrance fee. No corkage fees will be collected for the meantime so guests can bring their own food and drinks. Operating hours is between 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Just few meters away is another tourist spot perched at the side of the mountain, the vibrant flower farm named as ‘Buwakan ni Alejandra’. We were completely in awe as we entered the place with more than 200 species of local blooms of different colors beautifully scattered all around. There is an entrance fee of P50.00 per person same with Florentino’s. They are open at 7:00 AM and is closed at 6:00 PM.

This colorful paradise is truly a sight to behold. The area is continually being developed and improved.
On our way back to the city, we dropped off at Lantaw Native Restaurant for our lunch. Apart from serving great Filipino cuisines, the place itself is offering a fantastic overlooking view of the city. They answered our cravings with the scrumptious meals while enjoying the most spectacular view up the hill. The operating time is from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM except Sundays.

With all the sightseeing and refreshing breezy ride, we went home with happy hearts and satisfied stomach.
Now it's time for you to hit the road with your family and friends and explore the wondrous beauty of nature.
Summer love and kisses,
