The Bee Collage - Community Creative Input Need It - Collage La Abeja - Se Necesita Input Creativo de la Comunidad

A good friend of mine, very fanatical about bees, liked some photos I had taken last year and asked me if I could fix them and put together a kind of collage for her.

This post is to look for the community creative input on the color treatment I did to the photos. I leave the images treated and the original images for you to compare and tell me what you think.

The photos will be printed on canvas and mounted as you can see in the following image, on a wall painted black.

I appreciate any comments or suggestions you may have. Thank you in advance for your help.

Agradezco cualquier comentario o sugerencia que tengan. Desde ya, muchas gracias por la ayuda.

With tiny things, it's usually good to get closer. As long as you're not allergic to bees that is. Focus your lens to the closest it will focus and turn autofocus off, then focus by the distance from your lens to the subject! Further magnification can be achieved by cropping, if you can spare the resolution.

Thanks for your comment @pfunk :) When i took the pics I did not knew she would like them one year later ;) hahaha I was just testing a new lens 18-50. You are right, I will try to zoom more on the bee, it is a Raw format footage so it can be cropped a bit more without affecting the printing process. Thanks again for your input :) Btw, can you recommend a macro-lens maybe? Something not so expensive but good enough to start with.

It's not perfect, but I like my Tamron 90mm macro lens. It's a great macro and portrait lens for the money.

Edit: you can find the older (172E) version on eBay for really cheap, $175 shipped from Japan. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=tamron+90mm+macro+canon+172e&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=tamron+172e+canon&_sacat=0

Edit2: The newer 272E "Di" model can be found for about $250. It's not a vast improvement, it has a different focus grip and it has some kind of less-reflective coating on the back for digital cameras. But in most lighting conditions, there won't be a difference.

Tamron? Good to know, have seeing this lens mark around here in Germany a lot but never look into it. Will have to. Thanks again for the tip :)

This is really beautiful...i love the altered color, it really enhances the verde!
