Who would believe that at 6000 feet in the Dean Lao mountain range you would find the most beautiful strawberry garden Doi Angkhang. In the December timeframe, with temperatures around 70 degrees / 17 Celsius, strawberries are abundant in the rolling hills. If you are a native or visitor to Chaing Mai in the north of Thailand this has to be a visit for the strawberries, the photography or just to enjoy the beauty of this land.
We visited and we found proud and happy farmers working their crops with a slight fog throughout the hills. This is like a National Geographic Magazine location, you cannot get a bad photo.
Don’t think about your cell phone connection or internet, this is all about getting away.
They have been growing strawberries in the fields for many years. The climate is perfect for strawberries and other fruits during the year. The air is clean and scented with the crops.
There are very small shops of good that can be sold. The entrance fee is quite small (around 50 BHT or $1.75) and you can even rent a tent and stay the night.
They sell quail eggs, potatoes and strawberries for all and plenty of food for all tourists.
The farmers and shop owners were a delight and friendly to all. If they had a care in the world they never showed it. They must know they work in a blessed land and enjoy the bounty. Even in the summertime you are only a little warmer so it’s pleasant year around at such an elevation.
It’s about a 3 hour drive from Chaing Mai, but when are you going to be see paradise again? It’s worth the visit. Stay the night, don’t worry about your messages and facebook.
