One day, Masong got sick which nobody expected it to happen, which lead to his death. Lito was in so much pain. He couldn’t accept that he already lost his friend. Every day he visited the sepulcher of his friend Masong and cleaned it. Most of time he talked to it as if it just around the corner listening to his voice.
One time Lito was not feeling well. Whenever he walked he felt dizzy. His mother stop him from visiting the tomb of Masong. For several days, he stayed like that.
The whole time Lito was sick, there was a little animal came to his house. Her mother always dismissed the animal but it always came back beside the room of Lito and it seems like it was guarding him.
When the time Lito got healed, first thing he did was to visit the tomb of his friend Masong. There he had seen the animal that visited him every day. Standing beside the tomb and waiving its tail.
The animal did not leave in his side until he got home like what Masong always do. The animal always slept beside him and every morning it greeted him with a bark and waiving of its tail. Because of that animal, Lito soon forgot the loneliness that he felt when his friend Masong past away.
He then named the animal Masong because it acted like his old friend. It goes with him wherever he go and guarded him from any attackers. The animal turned out to be his best friend. The days had past and the name Masong slowly changed to Aso (Filipino name of dog).
