Stop Being Couch Potato, Lets Do Physical

Couch Potato is an idiom that describes a person who is someone who often engages in sedentary activities, usually understood as frequently watching television and now that we are in the age of gadgets, they are the person who engage in their gadgets.

Now in less than two weeks from now, school year 2017-2018 is about to end. Summer vacation is fast approaching, so kids will surely be looking forward for it. Playing gadgets and watching television is usually sedentary so getting the child up and moving is by far the healthier option.

Bad Effects

  • Hours of sedentary behaviour is linked not only to obesity, but other health problems such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and stroke.

  • Social activity. Don’t fool yourself that being on Facebook all day is social. It’s vital that kids get out and interact with other children in real life and not in phony virtual worlds.

  • Addiction. Too much playing of gadgets can creates significant changes in brain chemistry.

Let's Do Physical

Vacation time is near for our kids. Time to relax and be stress free after 10 months of studying and reviewing.
Though our kids are surrounded with gadgets, many parents are under the belief that technology and gadgets are essential for a child's development. But still we should encourage them to be physically active. And limit the used of this gadgets for their own benefits.
