🇵🇭The Philippines Top 5 White Sand Islands!
There are lots beaches and islands in the Philippines but 5 of them made it to my personal top 5!
“A sandbar, or shoal is a landform which is in or partly in a body of water. Usually it is made of sand, silt, and/or small pebbles.” - Wikipedia
1. White Island, Camiguin
It is a secluded sandbar composed of pebbles and white sands. White Island is just a few minutes away from Camiguin Island and is surrounded by turquoise clear waters. It’s shape can be changed from time to time by the tides.
2. Bulubadiangan Island, Iloilo
An awesome long and winding white sandbar which is located in Conception, Iloilo. Usually the long stretch of white sand shows up when the tide goes down.
3. Higatangan Island, Biliran
Found off the coast of Biliran province, This island is also known for it’s shifting sandbar due to wind direction and the current of the water. The long stretch of sand would extend up to 180 meters!
4. Manjuyod White Sand Bar, Negros Oriental
Dubbed as the “Maldives of the Philippines”. Known for it’s soft and powdery sands. It is also known as Sumapao Shoal. An estimated 600 hectare total strip area including the submerged portions.
5. Kalanggaman Island, Leyte
An island found in the middle of Cebu & Leyte Province, dubbed as “The Paradise Island” has a long stretch of sandbar on both ends. With it’s powdery white sand and clear turquoise waters, it’s a very popular spot for the tourists. It was named as Kalanggaman Island because it looks like a “bird” when seen from above. The both sandbars will change from time to time by the currents.
Excellent compilation of potential sites to visit in the Philippines for our next holiday! Thank you!
