#344/365, Two kittens came back but Rosy got the house squirrel, ลูก แมวสองตัวกลับบ้านแต่โรซี่จัดการกระรอกที่บ้าน
Later in the afternoon, I spent half an hour calling for the two kittens at the back of my garden. I hoped that they would recognise my voice and follow it home.

I kept up my hope and prayed to the house-spirit to bring them home safely. Earlier during the afternoon, I was surprised by one of my cat ‘s guilty expression. It was Rosy the hunter cat that hid a dead squirrel behind the pole. She was not very happy with my taking the dead squirrel away from her. It’s the squirrel who often came to our kitchen and banana groves. The flood has forced her to come inside the house to get some food as she could not get to those bananas because of the flood. I was very sad for this loss; this was a very beautiful squirrel.

Later at night as I was going to check why the water pump didn’t work, I saw the two lost kittens were by their mother, Jilly. They looked very tatter and hungry. I was so glad and grateful that they managed to find their way back. This was a big relief to see the cat family securely together again. I never knew that I could be so worried by these cats and I had spent a lot of energy on them too.

They have become my friends so I have to look after them. I just wish Rosy the hunter would stop catching birds, snake, scorpions, rats and squirrels. These were the animals my gardener found dead in my garden.
ตอนเย็นเราไปร้องเรียกหาลูกแมว ที่สวนหลังบ้านเพื่อให้มันได้ยินเสียงเรา และตามเสียงกลับบ้าน ข้างหลังบ้านกลายเป็นป่าย่อยๆ เต็มไปด้วยต้นไม้ ลูกแมวคงหลงทิศทางอยู่ในนั้น เราก็ขอให้เจ้าที่กรุณาข่วยนำลูกแมวกลับบ้านด้วย ก่อนหน้านี้เราเห็นแมวตัวหนึ่งทำหน้าตาเหมือนปิดบังความผิด ทำหน้าตามีพิรุธมากๆ เราก็ลองลงไปดูว่ามันซ่อนอะไรอยู่ พอไปดูที่ข้างหลังเสา ก็ตกใจมาก มันจัดการกระรอก ที่มักจะมาหากินที่ป่ากล้วย และหาผลไม้กินที่โต๊ะบ่อยๆ นี่เป็นเพราะนํ้าท่วมสวนหมด ทำให้มันเข้าไปหากล้วยกินไม่ได้ มันจึงต้องมาที่ห้องครัวข้างล่าง เจ้าโรซี่นักล่าจึงได้โอกาสจัดการ เราต้องแย่งเอากระรอกไปฝังที่กองใบไม้หลังบ้าน เราหวังว่ามันจะไปเกิดในภพที่ดีกว่านี้มากๆ
ตกกลางคืนเราต้องไปตรวจดูว่า ทำไมเครื่องปั๊มนํ้าจึงไม่ทำงาน ตอนเราเดินไปดูกล่องไฟฟ้า ก็เจอลูกแมวสองตัวกลับมาบ้านแล้ว มันนอนกับแม่ของมัน ดูมอมแมมมากคงเดินกันมาไกล แต่พอเข้าเขตบ้านมันคงดีใจมากที่ได้กลิ่นพวกของมันทั่วสวนเลย ทำให้เราโล่งใจมาก ดีใจที่ครอบครัวแมวกลับมาอยู่กันพร้อมหน้า อย่างอบอุ่นและปลอดภัย เราก็ไม่เคยคิดว่าจะเป็นห่วงแมว และทำอะไรให้มันมากขนาดนี้ เราคิดว่ามันเป็นเพื่อนของเรา และเรามีหน้าที่ดูแลครอบครัวแมวให้ดีที่สุดเท่าที่ทำได้ เราอยากให้เจ้าโรซี่เลิกล่าสัตว์อื่นๆ คนสวนบอกว่า เจอทั้งนกเอี้ยง งูตัวเล็ก แมลงป่อง หนูนา และกระรอกในสวนของเรา

Oh my dear friend I am so sorry Rosy has taken so many lives - it seems to be such a strong instinct in some cats more than others it is hard to come to terms with but Rosy probably feels she is doing good work to protect her home and family from predators.
That is such a relief the kittens came back - they are real survivors I reckon but it’s surprising they keep wandering like this. I wish so strongly that life could get back to normal for you all. Is this the longest time flood waters have stayed high or is it so bad every year? Blessings love and light to you my friend.
Thank you so much for your kindness. I think Rosy will not change her nature so I have to be watchful of her hunting habit. The two kittens were not as smart as the smallest one who seems to be always by the adult cats.
The flood was man made! The flood started with a sudden rise of water up to four meters in six hours. Severe monsoon rain will raise about one meter in six hours. I found out that one of the five dams the Chinese built along this river had been broken. It was not in the news and there was no warning of the broken dam! So people down stream were totally unprepared when their houses were submerged under four meters of water. Lots of animals were drown in the flood in other towns.
I consider myself very lucky as I only lost all the trees and plants. These can be replanted but it will take time for them to grow big and tall.

The white kitten is VERY beautiful! Cats often catch prey to give to their humans as prey. When I was sick one of the cats left a dead bird by my chair!
The white kitten is called 'Snow' or "Samlee' which means cotton wool. My gardener find English name very difficult to remember!
Rosy always took her preys to the kittens to show off!
That is quite normal!
