Simple life by the river, a far away place from big cities.

I don’t know when I started to long for simple life in the countryside far away from the noisy activities of big cities. I think I would like a quiet place to enable me to have silence and be with nature. But it would be ideal that this place should not be too far from convenient stores, drug stores and local markets. It has taken me years of dreaming and hoping that such a place would find me one day. Fortunately, destiny has been kind to me after several efforts to search for the right place.

After visiting my old friend in Nongkhai, I started to explore this far away place from Bangkok. It was not what I had imagined; I would like a place near the sea or on high mountains. But this place started to grow on me. It is not completely quiet but the slow pace of life and the town lay out suited me very well. It’s like having the best of both worlds.

It’s so nice to have a place for exercises in the evening! The river front is very pleasant on the evening. People of all ages come out cycling, jogging and walking. Some days, the sunset can be quite spectacular while the moon rise would look rather surreal. There are so many local stories about the river and the Water Serpents who looks after the whole river. Villagers found still go fishing in the river. Several wild plants are edible and people could live without spending so much money. Simple way of life with down to earth attitude will make me enjoy living a self-sufficiency life style.

Sometimes things just happened as if I was guided by destiny and some guardian angels. Sometimes I felt lost as if they have all forsaken me. Certain conditions have to be met for that which is sacred to manifest its energy. Hope I could be self aware and centered all the time.
