Do we ever grow up, I am still waiting at 53.

When is the right time to grow up, when you reach a certain age, your first serious relationship, your first job, when you get married, have children. Do we really grow up or do we just learn to handle responsibility better but still can act childish.
I have this conversation with my hubby quite often, he will do something really childish like have a tantrum over something really small or I can act childish by playing the odd trick on him, I love playing tricks on him

I am 53 and still get a kick our of winding him up, or playing a prank that makes him look daft these are my favourites, Like cutting out a picture of a pig and placing it over his buss pass photo bloody hilarious I hide when he comes in from work, not because I am scared but because I know what he is going to say with... lots of naughty words

If I was in the kitchen he would shout "can you bring me a can in please" He doesn't ask anymore as I used to shake them madly then when he opened them it went everywhere or He used to ask me to text his mates as his texting is really slow plus he isn't a good speller, he has stopped asking me now and struggles on by himself as I used to put love you or kisses on the end, not good when he is talking to workmates or golf mates. Or he would come to bed, I am usually always first in bed, I would find his PJ bottoms then tie the legs together into multiple knots, then when he was getting into bed pull his pillows away so he would get a shock.
peed myself laughing quite a lot back then.

I have to keep trying new pranks as he catches on pretty quick now, for some strange reason he doesn't trust me as much he will always question what I have done. I need new pranks as I am running short and with being housebound it helps me get through the day knowing I am going to get a rise from him. He doesn't get mad, he does eventually laugh about them.

My youngest daughter is catching on quick too, she waits until her dad falls asleep watching TV then paints his nails, or writes on his face. Its so funny to watch him , bless he has an awful life.

So back to when is the right time to grow up I would say never, we have to have a laugh at each other and our self's, life can be far to serious these days and with so much bad stuff happening those odd laughs break the hurt and hate. OK I admit I am a bit of a clown but I would never hurt anyone and ts always done in fun.

Thank you son-of-satire

I'm against growing up when it comes to joy and creativity and having fun.
I'm for growing up when it comes to how we treat each other in general. (I don't mean your husband with that. Keep doing that 😂 it sounds like you have a lot of fun in your family :))

Thank you, I will I have far to much fun lol :)

@karenb54
I think there is always a kid inside of us! While I do think it's important to be a responsible adult, I also believe we should still be light-hearted and care free to make life enjoyable.

I do try my best to be good when I should be :)

That's great! :D

you should have a youtube channel to film some of these pranks, there are folks making millions on youtube from doing just that! lol would've loved to see his reaction opening the shaken beer can haahha

He looked rather wet and in shock, think he was more angry about wasting his beer lol

Oh, that is quite delightful. Karen, I started the day with yr post. Correction: I came downstairs & hubby had TV turned on to Trump news and some violence in Virginia ...
Then, I came & read yr post & it gave me a lift. I chuckled at the Tying of the pajamas [thanks for the idea - wink, wink ].

Yes, indeed we do sorely need the LAUGHTER during these times. So keep up the good work !

Thank you, I can see a lot of men getting pranked today, my ears will be burning lol

Most of us "grow up", but there's always a few who just grow old. Having said that, my favorite uncle was always one who seemed to never have grown up, but all of us loved him for it. I miss him dearly, and cherish the funny times we had. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the visit :)

Some of these pranks are gold lol. I might try them on my hubby. It's good to be young at heart.

If you do let me know how they went, the buss pass one was hilarious as the buss driver was pretty persistent that the pig wasn't him, hubby said the bus driver was in hysterics the whole journey lol

I like the pajama one too :-)

LOL you have got to tie each knot really tight as they have a real hard time doing them

LOLOLOL! :D
😄😇😄

@creatr

LOL :)

I act like childish even though im 16. But, not in the way of pranks and all the fun stuff, i still watch disney junior because i want to preserve my innocence. I love innocence just like i love my cats and all animals. And my family (you) :)

I love a Disney film and I love animals :)

:) thats so cute, i love wreck it ralph from disney the most

I love lion king but its too sad :(

I haven't seen lion king yet, but yeah it's too depressing. Specially when the lion loses its family. I hope to watch it someday, when i feel like im home, when i feel comfortable

Watch Lion King then watch your favourite one to cheer you up :)

Sure karen, that's a promise for tonight :)

I'm like you, I usually say that I feel like being in my late 20s although in reality another 15 years can be added. I have a good number of friends being 15 to 20 years younger than I, that keeps me young and playful as well.

That's the best way to be :)
