The digging dog!

I can watch dogs dig holes all day long. And sometimes it even feels like dogs can dig holes all day long. For some reason it is in their nature to get to the other side of the world as fast as they can, and it is hilarious to watch.

Recently I took my dog to the beach for the first time, not knowing how he would respond to sand and waves of the sea. Well not surprisingly he loved both of them. The waves were not too tempting for him to walk through, but when throwing a ball through the waves, he would effortlessly jump into the waves to save his ball from the rest of the world. The only word I can use to describe it would be ‘fearless.’

With the digging it was the same thing. The dog would look for a spot as close as possible to one of his bosses and start digging from there. Initially it looked like he was just having fun, but after that he would take his own hole and lay into the sand which was cooler than the rest of the more superficial sand. I guess it is in their nature to just do so.

Another thing which is funny about these dogs is when they start to dig, it always feels like their paws become bigger all of a sudden. As if know that scooping the sand out goes easier when the ‘pawfingers’ (I don’t know what else to call them) are stretched. It was super cool to see how much sand at once he could move with just one scoop.

Okay this was enough doggy spam from my side. This was just a reminder to myself how cool my dog is ;)
