Little Girl with Melons - an oil painting.
It was in India, Bangalore I believe, that I saw this little girl standing in front of a pile of melons. Her baggy green dress was close to the color of the melons, and she was lost in her child's world. She reminded me of my own childhood, of being unconcerned about my clothing, about how I looked, enjoying running barefoot and playing in the sun.
I framed her with a background of traditional Indian textile motifs , using the designs to create a window through which she could be seen.

that's a great painting and you have a very distinctive style. I love the watermelon cascade. It's as if they are a subtle symbol which tells a story about the girl's life. looking forward to see more ~
