Your social media account is your most accessible CV.
What you post determines the kinds of people who send you friends request and also determines, to a large extent, the kind of audience you have.
People mention you in opportunities or jobs based on what they read from or see you post on your timeline. Meaning, whatsoever niche you've created for yourself defines your brand.
People accept your request bases on three things, contents on your timeline, kind and quality of pictures posted or the mutual friends
Once you send someone a friend request, there's a high probability that the first thing they'll check first would be your timeline to see what you churn out. Thus, don't let your timeline be infiltrated with just birthday wishes.
Others would accept you based on who is mutual friends with them. There are certain people everyone holds in very high esteem such that once they see such persons as your mutual friend, they quickly pass it that you're worthy of the friendship.
Some people are seriously pictures freak. They subscribe for and spend their time admiring quality pictures. To get this kind of people, that means, the pictures in your timeline must not just be catchy, they must be of quality too.
But everyone must understand that we can't be the same just as we cannot be the same in real life. Some must post comic stuff, memes, jokes, some would write poems, others would write motivations. A chunk would delve into sports and others would be Facebook teachers, journalist, techy and some are just there to share opportunities.
In all, be sure you create a niche for yourself and be consistent in it. Do what is right and would bring you the expected audience and network.
Don't let anybody deceive you, what you constantly post, in the eyes of readers, define who you are. But don't be too serious on this app, take some time out and catch fun with your friends.
Live and let's live.
