Pups too young for solid food
Everyone loves puppies right? Well some of the puppies that we recently came across at one of our temples appear to be motherless and they are so young that solid food doesn't sit well with them yet. We are happy to oblige as we cater to their milk needs and they seem to really like it!

Dogs are funny in a "not very smart" but still cute way. A case in point would be when we set all 3 of them down with their own bowls and the female for whatever reason still wanted to drink out of the one in the middle. I guess we can't blame her. The only stability that she has ever had in her life is the presence of her brothers and I guess she wants to always be close to them.

Eventually all the milk was gone in the first 2 bowls and the siblings didn't leave anything behind. These hungry little babies are going to eat it all!
We also will introduce them to a mixture of solid mixed with soft food after the milk. This strategy of getting dogs used to solid food was something that was recommended by one of our local veterinarians so I am just going to assume that she knows what she is talking about .

During this same visit we decided to torment the cats a little bit by bringing whole fish for them to enjoy as a treat. They very much appreciated it.

That kitty in the back doesn't look very pleased that the first fish was not offered to it but don't worry little buddy! We made sure to being enough for everyone!

Cats have this tendency to grab their food and then run away to enjoy it somewhere else. Although this process isn't really necessary at this particular temple since we have plenty of food, it is something that is built into their genes, so soon we found ourselves with fish left over, but no cats to give it to.

While we did try to offer it to one of the local doggos, he wasn't at all interested. This is a funny attribute about animals, some food very much appeal to one species while another will be completely disinterested even if they are very hungry. It was no problem though because we arrived this day with many other snacks on offer.

I'm happy to report that all of the animals at this particular temple are in great health and we haven't had any new drop offs in a few days now. Also, we have asked the monks to create a sign that will warn would-be drop-offs that there is no more room at the inn, so to speak. We'll have to wait and see if this actually has any impact on whether or not people decide to do it or not.
