Repayment in bitcoins: The new virus for devices on the basis of Android is found!
Specialists of the ESET company have found a shifrator for mobile devices on the basis of Android which blocks the screen and demands for an unblocking repayment at a rate of 0,0130 satoshi (BTC). If the victim doesn't grant the necessary sum on the specified purse, malefactors threaten to destroy within a day all data which are available on the device.
As it is reported in the official press release, malicious software under the name DoubleLocker works at a basis of the virus collecting bank data of users. However the new malware isn't interested in the financial information which is available on the device, and ciphers data and can change the PIN code of the smartphone or tablet.
Distribution of the dangerous software happens under the guise of up-dating or activation of Adobe Flash Player on the false websites. Having got on the device, DoubleLocker gets necessary permissions under the guise of switching on of false service Google Play Service. Every time when the user clicks "Home", a virus extortioner is activated and locks the device screen.
In the spring of this year the hacker attack with an involvement of the WannaCry virus extortioner struck computers worldwide. During this time creators of malicious software earned in total amount about $140 thousand in bitcoins, and the general damages from the attack were assessed at $1 billion.
