The role of cholesterol in the body End

Immune system

Cholesterol is essential for the immune system to function properly. Immune cells rely on cholesterol to fight infections and recover from the "war." In addition, bad cholesterol (LDL) directly attaches and disables dangerous bacterial toxins, preventing them from causing any damage in the body. People with low blood cholesterol are more susceptible to various infections, longer illness times and more likely to die from infections.

Cholesterol is a major healing factor in the body. When the body needs healing, it produces cholesterol and sends it to the lesion. When we get bad cholesterol infections rise to deal with the attacks of bacteria or viruses.

Antioxidants

Cholesteorl acts as an antioxidant in the body and helps to heal the damage caused by free radicals. Wounds in the body contain many free radicals because immune cells use highly active molecules to kill bacteria and toxins. But excess radicals must be neutralized and cholesterol performs this function.

Cholesterol also plays a role in recovery after surgery. In an operation, the tissues are cut off and many small arteries, veins and capillaries are damaged. At that point, the liver begins to stir up cholesterol, causing the body to overwhelm LDL cholesterol to purify and heal wounds in blood vessels and tissues.
