Earthquake in Indonesia with 5.9 magnitude hits today| No Tsunami warning

A very strong 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia's Molucca Sea on 16/04/18. There is no Tsunami allert issued at this time.

The earthquake was at the depth of 36.5 Km, 85 Km northwest of Kota Ternate at 1A.M IST.

There is no reports of any damage  registered yet. And there is no Tsunami warning is issued.

Indonesia is situated on the pacific "Ring of Fire" where continental plates occasionally collide , causing volcanic as well as seismic activity.

A huge undersea earthquake was registered in 2004 that killed nearly 170.000 people, on western Sumatra island and thousands more in other countries with coasts on the Indian Ocean.
