वंश - वर्णन

श्री षडानन उवाच-भगवान श्रोतुमिच्छामियदु भवतापुरा।

कथ विश्वक्रिया प्राज्ञों, राजरूपों मुनीश्वर:

श्री कार्तिकेयजी ने प्रभु शंकरजी से पूछा की हे
भगवान ! राजरूप मुनीश्वर श्री विश्वकर्माजी ने विश्व
रचना किस प्रकार की। ये मुझे बताइये। तब भगवान
शिव ने कहाकि हे षडानन ! लोककल्याण के लिए मैं
ये कथा कह रहा हूं। प्रभु विश्वकर्मा जी ने प्रथम लोक
निर्माण के लिए महाददि तत्वों से उत्पन्न हुआ सोलह
कला वाला रूप धारण किया। जिस से आलोक
विस्तार उत्पन्न हुआ । वहीं प्रभु का शुद्ध रूप था। हजारों
हाथ, पैर, नाक, कान, नेत्र, मुह, मस्तक, मुकट एवं
हजारों कुण्डलों से शोभायमान प्रभु का एसा स्वरूप
निर्मल नेत्रों से देखा जा सकता है । प्रभु का यह रूप
छोटे अवतार ग्रहण कर देवतिर्यच व मनुष्य आदि का
रूप धारण करता है।
योग निद्रा के विस्तार से जल में शयन कर रहे
भगवान नारायण के नाभि कमल से सृष्टि रचयिता
प्रजापति ब्रह्मा उत्पन्न हुए। ब्रह्मा ने प्रभु आज्ञा से एक
हजार देव वर्ष तक तपस्या की। इस पर प्रसन्न हो
नारायण प्रभु ने ब्रह्माजी को प्रजा का सृजन करने को
कहा। ब्रह्मजी ने अपनी देह तथा मनोकामना से कितनी
ही प्रजा का सृजन किया। ब्रह्माजी के दक्षिण स्तन से
धर्म राज उत्पन्न किये। इन धर्म राज को दक्ष ने अपनी
अंरूधती आदि दस कन्याएं वरण की। इन कन्याओं में
से दूसरी कन्या से द्रोणादि आठ वसु उत्पन्न हुए। इन वसु
पुत्र में एक अंगिरस हुए। जिनके पुत्र विश्वकर्मा
कहलाये। इनका दूसरा नाम चस है। कृतिपति
विश्वकर्मा को ज्ञानी पुरूष ही पहचान पाते है। इन
विश्वकर्मा जी (चक्षुस) से चतुर राजनीतिज्ञ चाक्षुस
मनु उत्पन्न हुए। पुत्र सदा आत्मारूप होते है। चास के
पुरू, पुरूष, सुथुन, विश्व एवं साध्य थे। पांच पुत्र हुए
सभी शिल्प क्रिया में प्रवीन इन चाक्षुस पुत्रों का संसार
में वंश बढ़ता गया।
