🏃 Jog + health food + jogging book

in #jogging6 years ago (edited)

Woohoo, I finally have internet at my place. I'm opening my storage and made a trip to an épicerie, that's French for grocery store. The stores are different in French Canada compared to English. There seem to be more small shops here, the products seem better, and cheaper.

I'm not sure why that is. I guess people spend more time shopping, cooking, and eating here? In Ontario (my home province) most grocery stores are large corporate ones. We have those in Quebec too but for meats and cheeses the small ones are way better.

I found this clorella powder in my storage. It's a health food made from an algae. I tried it at a smoothie shop mixed with coconut water so I decided to buy some.

This image explains the benefits.

This is my small grocery haul from one épicerie. It's a small one so I only get certain things. I like eating high protein things. They say red meat is bad but I love it.

I hadn't seen the one cashier in so long because I'd been gone from Villary. She was stocking shelves and looking the other way so I didn't want to say anything. Then when she heard me she came to the cash (or maybe she was going to do that anyways) but I was surprised so my face went a little bit red and I looked away. Then when I did look back she was checking someone out. I waved but it was awkward and I don't know if she saw.

Sorry for getting off the topic of jogging and health.

I also went jogging in Jarry Park again. The first 5km was amazing with an average pace of 4:20. Problem is a little bit after that I got a huge cramp so I had to stop.

Also I ended up buying an audio book that was suggested by @marenontherun. It's called born to run and it's pretty interesting so far. Apparently it's about runners who reach extreme levels of performance.

I'll listen to some tonight as I keep unpacking stuff and setting up. Thanks for reading and keep running!

aha...you're not a vegetarian and you don't like to cook-)
coconut water is tasty?
why you can't eat just a coconut and drink its juice?)

It's good for hydration. You want to see me break open a coconut? Ok I will do it 😝

Weeeh, so exited to hear what you think of the book. It is the book I've read the most times in my adult life!

I'm always looking for new books. I'll get this one.

You also have Lindt chocolate in Canada? That's cool, the dark one is one of my favorites!

Yes, they are so good! I love putting a piece of dark chocolate in my mouth and then take a sip of warm coffee so it melts! 🍫 💖
