"NEW" Learning!

Albert Einstein is widely credited with saying, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.”

So, what NEW are you learning?

Or, what NEW have you added to your work?

Every now and then we must take stock of our learning practices, to check if we have learnt something new in the recent past or not?

"New" doesn't necessarily mean that we randomly start learning anything and everything under the sun, rather it means, are we updating our existing knowledge regularly?

And if we are not, we clearly need to reassess the work that we are involved in. The reason why most people are not keeping themselves updated on their work front is that they are not interested in what they are doing. They are just slogging through it.

The irony is, the things that we are interested in are different from the work that we are involved in.

But sometimes, we have to even if we don't want to.

Let's talk about the Have to & Want to of learning!

I have to learn and I want to learn, both appear the same but have different meanings.

The Have to kind of learning is when you are doing it because of compulsion whereas the "Want to" kind of learning is when you eagerly looking forward to learning something without any compulsion.

Example:

I have to learn, my boss told me to.
I want to learn, I enjoy it.

There are two different kinds of emotions attached to these statements. Nothing is right or wrong, the point is, where do we spend most of our time, in "Have to" or "Want to"?

What about you?

Also, do share what new you are learning nowadays?

Hello @knowledgefruit.

There is nothing clearer than when we want to learn by obligation that knowledge is not well learned, on the contrary when we learn about something that we are passionate about is something that we will learn with a lot of knowledge and determination to succeed.

Greetings and thank you for sharing your valuable content.

Hello @knowledfruit!
When we do something because we really want to do it, we put all our heart into it, as opposed to when we do it just out of obligation. However, I believe that we should have a good attitude towards the challenges and situations that we face and that everything we do should be done well because at the end of the day we can get an experience, a learning experience or an opportunity that will lead us to what we want. Greetings!

Yes it's a very big question "where do we spend most of our time, in "Have to" or "Want to"? Am still thinking about it. Your post really touched me @knowledgefruit, please keep it up, and thanks for sharing

Yes steem lover you are right learning is most important in life

Learning process can be iether pleasant or difficult depending on the motive that follows it

It is normal to feel afraid of the new, in learning the same thing happens, the love and the duty, from my experience I tell you that you have to make balances, if we only took what we want I think we would go aimlessly, in my case I want learn everything about gastronomy, but I also have to learn about other associated things such as economics, administration, which are not my favorites but I know that by joining that "I want" and "I have to" I will achieve my goals more effectively

Very true and precise as well. Learning should be more about wanting to learn rather than a sad obligation. Nice piece
