Destroying Other People's Property Because You Didn't Get What You Wanted

in #anarchy6 years ago

It's pretty sad to see the state of consciousness some people are in. I think there are different motivations for why someone will vandalize other people's property, but they all indicate a low-level state of being and consciousness.

When some people don't get what they want, they get enraged, riot and destroy things. I think they do this as a way to try to "spread the suffering". As they are suffering, they want to make someone else suffer too. They will destroy what someone else has so they get something bad in their lives too.

I was listening to the radio, and the DJ was talking about a Rolling Stones concert in Montreal during the 70s. He was mentioning how the Stones had received death threats by the Hell's Angels criminal gang.

When they showed up for the concert at the old Forum in Montreal, a bomb went off that took out the van with their instruments. Calls came with with claims of responsibility. Some people blamed the Hell's Angels. Other the French Quebec terrorist group called the FLQ.

Then he mentioned how the stadium was packed, all tickets sold out for $7 each. But there were fake tickets being sold for $20. This was a problem, as usual, when people get denied entry for trying to go see a show they paid for.

But at this show, a lot of people got pissed off for being ripped off and buying fake tickets. Instead of dealing with the fact they got ripped off by someone they couldn't payback, they took that suffering they were experiencing and externalized it through rioting and vandalizing the property of others.

Innocent people who had done people no wrong, were now the victims of the stupidity and harm of others who got scammed. Those who got scammed wanted to see a show, paid for it, but they bought it from shady ticket scalpers. Then when they didn't get what they wanted and got screwed by buying from strangers of the street, they chose to project their own suffering onto others and perpetuate violence and harm on other people's property. The riot police were soon called in.

This is a child's mind. A cry baby who doesn't get what they want, and who got injured by someone they can't target, choosing to just unleash carnage by vandalizing cars and windows of people who did nothing against them.

When I hear stories of riots, I always think of how childish and immature people are to engage in it. It's a low-level mindset and way of being. Any vandalizing riot is the same. Some people get mad at government and can't target the government, so they target anything they can to alleviate their suffering. They project their suffering and create more suffering for other innocent people who have to deal with harm to their property.

If some people can't get what they want (entry to a concert where they paid for fake tickets, justice, an end to government corruption, anarchy, whatever), they justify harming other's property, perpetuating suffering and doing wrongs to innocents, on the grounds that they themselves were wronged. As if that makes it all better. As if that is a "right" they have to do in the first place.

And what's even dumber, is when people riot when they get what they want. Montreal seems to have this problem. In 2008, the Montreal Canadiens won against the Boston Bruins in the 7th game of the first round of the NHL playoffs. Thousands rushed to the streets for what started off as a peaceful celebration.

But then some morons decided to be assholes and degenerate the celebration into mayhem and violence. it's possible they weren't even fans of the game, but just wanted a reason to be assholes and criminals and have the cover of a lot of people to get away with it. Police and regular cars were torched, burned and vandalized. Stores were vandalized and looted. Something similar happened in 1993 when the Canadiens won the Stanley Cup.

There are a lot of varying low-level consciousness individuals in the world who will use different justifications to vandalize and other people's property. Regardless of taxation being theft, it's often the public through the coercively-taken tax money that has to pay for hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars in damages. So even if you weren't directly a victim harmed by a vandal, the system of society makes you a victim anyways.

Thank you for your time and attention. Peace.

Thats ridiculous! Its not enough reason to do such things to destroy someones property coz you didnt got what you wanted. We cant deny that there people have this thinking and in fact some of them even kill for something. Sad 😔

Yes, demented mindsets :/

Unfortunately, the example of destruction and violence as a response to not getting what you want is what govenments do to their citizens or other nations citizens when their authority is questioned or terms of trade deemed unacceptable.
These wars on concepts cause far more destruction to life and property, and the cost is borne by many who do not support the actions, from money created from nothing, subject to interest repayments stetching into the next generation.

Yup, it's exactly what they do as well. Do what we say. No? OK! I'm stealing your shit and/or locking you in a cage! Seat-belts and bike helmets are one example that I covered recently.

I have noticed a tendency for this problem to occur most frequently among those who get taken care of by government programs. I believe a large part of this mindset involves those who were never taught and got into a mindset of working for what they receive. Guessing that there is little ability for empathy as they have no idea how hard it is to acquire and grow any semblance of wealth.

In fact, they are often told that those who have were beneficiaries of a system of oppression, and do not deserve what they have worked for.

As for those who riot after something good happening like their sports team (not really theirs though nor do those players or owner give 2 shits about them) I am not really sure what those people are tripping over. I can say though that in many cases like the scenario I painted above, they often wonder why economic conditions are depressed, somehow never connecting the idea that if they make it unsafe to be there and steal and destroy from the businesses, smart people will not put their business there, and if dumb enough, will not rebuild for seconds if hit hard by one of these riots.

Yeah, "my team", "we won", people are so lost in identification :/ They get so excited over things that have nothing to do with them. Lost in bullshit.

Your stories about Montreal made me remember the mayhem in Buenos Aires following the last FIFA world cup's final in 2014 (pic below).
I always think about the politial implications of the world cup and soccer in general. During the course of the Russia world cup the national currency (ARS) devaluated more than 20% but nobody cared because they were all watching soccer. One could think that advancing in the cup stages would be good for the people's happiness but being close to win may unleash more violence than getting out earlier.
This year the national team got out early from the cup and no riots were involved.

Yeha, people are so lost and confused in their attachment to bullshit like sports and entertainment... :/

Many (not all) of these situations are started by paid provocateurs. Many pieces of liberty destroying legislation are passed relative to events such as these.

This is just an external manifestation of internal issues of the members of our society. This is the same manner our governments employ to coerce compliance. Comply or we will take your property or inflict violence on you.

I guess if humanity has justified this for government it must be justifiable across the board in their minds. Looks like we have some internal shadow work to do.

Yup, and because some people to it, gotta punish everyone in order to control them :/ Inner-work is sorely lacking in 95%-99% of the population I imagine

I know a guy who is notorious for this. Every time he and his girlfriend gets into a fight, he will go crazy with marital items. They live together, and when they argue, he will throw everything of hers into the yard. All her DVDs and kitchen items. It gets ridiculous. During there last fight she threatened to leave him and he ripped the pipes out from underneath the sink that he had recently fixed in the previous week claiming that she could have nothing of his.

People need to STOP making solely emotion based decisions. Use you rational side of your brain. Grrrrr

He's nuts. Leave now woman! Emotions have good things about them, but they are bad when used to just follow blindly and be moved by at all times.

I never understood this kind of behavior or disease of the brain...

I remember in my engineering bachelor course work, there was a lot to desired in terms of poor teaching, etc. I remember saying to a fellow student that I hope they can fix the problem so the classes don't have to go through this. His answer: They should have to suffer the same pain as us...

I refuse to have that kind of demented thinking.

Yeah its sad really, to think someone needs others to suffer in order for "justice" or "fairness" to be had :/

There are a lot of varying low-level consciousness individuals in the world who will use different justifications to vandalize and other people's property.

When the current (50years) marxist indoctrination of 'equality' collides with reality of inequality, this is what happens - and the low IQ'ers are left with nothing but rage and frustration, unable to work out why they feel so cheated in life..

It's the system that has cheated them of course, which was the whole idea...

Yes, the system, but you can't fight the system to make it change by destroying other people's shit lol :P

Ah man tell me about it... in London it just seems to be whenever there is a riot or big protest about something it turns into trashing everything.

The biggest problem is with that, is all of the lesser educated, use it as an excuse to go and steal as much as they can. In London lots of small independent places get robbed, or just mobs of people go in and smash things. It’s so f***ing pointless! If they really wanted to make a different, go right into the government office! Go to 10 Downing Street and smash that, or into the h.o.p.

Well, actually I don’t condone any of it at all, but most definitely not mindless and wreckless attacks upon anything. But most of the people doing the damage are not even part of the protest, just violent groups using it as an excuse to smash things....

Yup, "free stuff", I don't care if I'm actually stealing, I can get away with it :D muh!

I remember that game, I was on a cruise ship watching it it was one hell of a game!

What I think people fall victim to is mob mentality with riots. People who are normally pretty decent will get sucked into a mob that’s causing chaos because they see others doing it.
There is also alcohol and other factors of course.

Yup, group-think conformity to go along with what others are dong.
