As I have promised to quite many of you yesterday here comes the second report on my very subjective experiences collected at a fabulous hotel, Mala Garden in Siรณfok, Hungary. After describing the basics in the first part, let's continue the journey in the restaurant!

Restaurant and catering

Well, actually I would start in front of the restaurant at one of the stylish terraces right by the lakeside. Just imagine yourself sipping a superb wine or a fancy cocktail and enjoying a spectacular sunset like this... Everything is calm and relaxed... Blame me for that, but for me Paradise looks very similar... ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

The restaurant of the hotel has the same unique, oriental style as other parts of the building. In the center is a huge bar decorated with very nice embossments.

We spent two nights at the hotel and both evenings there was great quality live music in the restaurant which added a lot to the nice and friendly atmosphere. They offer a fusion kitchen, so they serve oriental dishes, great steaks and chef's specialities as well as a well-picked selection of famous Hungarian meals. The receptionist reminded us to book a table if we wanted to eat in the restaurant and it seemed to be a very useful piece of advice as there were a lot of guests arriving from outside the hotel on both days (which shows that the quality is really awesome).

I really loved the idea that besides the various forms and settings of seats, chairs and sofas around, there was also an oriental table where you can eat sitting on the floor. It is intalled on a pulpit so that heads of guests sitting there are approximately at the same height as of those sitting at the tables... A great design trick to incorporate multiple styles in the same environment. So you can always find a spot that suits best to the occasion, the company you are with and your preferences. Attention to tiny details... ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

On the first day we have ordered the same meal, ham and cheese-filled chicken breasts in an exotic potato jacket with a spicy sour-cream sauce. It was more than delicious and compared to the other fine-dining places that I have visited the portions were really huge. (They serve meals on a plate with a size of a huge steering wheel ๐Ÿ˜Ž).

On the second evening my sweetheart have ordered pork medallions with grilled hominy and various grilled veggies and I had Thai fried noodles with chicken (it was huuuuuge - I couldn't eat it! And they have brough me chopsticks without asking for it).

Breakfast selection was also breathtaking - you could find EVERYTHING on the table (really) from hand-made breads, a great selection of creams (my favourite was the eggplant cream) and other appetizers, freshly baked, warm cakes and other sweets to champagne and caviars. In a separate fridge there are different home-made yoghurts, milk-replacement drinks, fruit salads, cup desserts etc....

It doesn't matter if you are having a vegan, paleo, lactose-free, cholesterol free, gluten-free or just simply a healthy diet - you will surely find plenty of things to choose from... And if that was not enough, there are a lot of waiters around looking forward to fulfilling your wishes - you can order any warm drinks and severalhot meals from a separate menu card. It's fantastic! I was kind of sorry that we were there only for two days, as I couldn't taste a lot of yummy things... ๐Ÿ˜Š

Wellness section

The wellness section is small but it is absolutely proportional with the size of the hotel and fully equipped with all comfort that you need at such a place. I loved the fact that the pool has a view to the lake and it is surrounded by a fantastic balcony. I guess all the doors are open during the summer connecting it more to the grandiose surroundings. The pool is programmed to give massage, bubble bath and other tricks in several rounds. There are two sauna cabins with wonderful salt-bricked walls (unfortunately I didn't take a picture of that, so I had to borrow the last two pics from the homepage of the hotel) and all over the place there are comfortable beds and sofas to rest and relax. There is a separate waitress for the pool section, so they serve cocktails even in the pool. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

And if that was not relaxing enough, you can ask for a traditional Thai massage. ๐Ÿ˜

The building and the surrounding area

Walking around the building you will find a lot of nice paintings and statues on the corridors. And the main hall is full of ceramics, carpets, furniture and statues taken from Bali, too. In the toilets of the coffee house and the restaurant, there ishand creme and mouth water served for refreshment (another thing I have never experienced elsewhere). And there are fresh flowers everywhere.

The building is situated on the majority of the plot available, but still the owners and the designer was great in turning the remaining pieces of land into oriental gardens. All over the place there are nice plants and statues - it's wonderful. The two buildings are connected by an open corridor that has a cover - we had my favourite Buddha statue on that corridor. I made a pic during the day and in the evening as well. It was really beautiful!

And they very wisely reach out towards the lake.Besides having a few terraces of the coffee house right by the lake, they also have a huge suntanning terrace built on the water. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
