Wrinkles on your face! Why worry aimlessly?

in #life6 years ago (edited)

Most times we are presented with different uncertainties in life that we are faced with no option than to worry. We worry about our health, family,finances, relationships, work, some worry about getting older, getting fatter or slimmer or being physically fit and the list is endless.

Worrying is Okay if what you are worrying about is worth the worry. Worrying is Okay if you can find the balance between healthy worrying and unhealthy worrying!There is a thin line between acting on your worries and becoming a neurotic mess. When worrying prompts you to make plans for your current situation like to go and see a doctor if you are worried about your health, to go to the gym or eat less if you are worried about your weight, to budget your income and check your spendings if you are worried about your finances,then your worrying is healthy because it prompted you to act on what you are worrying about.

If you are a persistent worrier, you worry about every situation including situations that you can do nothing about like you worry about getting older, you worry about whether your boss or collegues at work likes you or not, then you are on your way to being a neurotic mess because whether you worry about getting older or not you will definitely get older,everyone does with time and it's of no use worrying about whether your boss or collegues at work likes you,because we can't really control how people should feel about us.

If you are worried, you can actually eliminate your worries and feel free from them. You can;

1)check to know if there is something that you can do about whatever you are worried about and do it. If you are worried about your relationship, try to fix it and if things are not working out, may be it's not the right relationship for you, you can take a walk to save your self the headache.

2)Talk to someone about it. Someone who you can trust that is willing to listen to you. The person could be in the position to provide practical advice that can help you eliminate your worry. Research has also shown that the quality of our lives improves when there is someone who is always willing to listen to our troubles.

3)Get absorbed in something else: if you have gotten to that point where you worry frequently, you can try to get involved in something that you love doing that can take your attention from worrying. Getting absorbed in something that you love helps to get rid of worrying.

Worrying alone has never solved anything, instead you may just be putting up more wrinkles on your face. It's important to find the balance between healthy worrying and unhealthy worrying, when your worrying goes with no plans nor actions,amplifies your anxiety,pushes you into depression, then you need to watch it. Worrying might be okay, but worrying aimlessly is not!

Even though sometimes we can't help but worry, we should get help when worried...

All of it is a phase and it would pass...
