My friday's Film

in CCC9 days ago

Today is Friday and I'll be watching a couple of movies, since I've gotten into watching films ever since we finally got an internet plan, thanks to my sister gifting my parents a TV last year because she bought herself a smart TV. I'm not sure if she didn't know or just wanted a new TV, but the thing is, hers works pretty well, and it just needed a little gadget to make it smart 🤓.

So, I bought a TV Stick and signed up for an internet plan, which, although not cheap, is worth it because thanks to it, my parents can enjoy their favorite shows. Of course, it's also a great opportunity for me to watch movies and not have to worry about buying data cards that don't last long.

Fortunately, I'm decades behind on movies, so I can watch free streaming platforms like Pluto TV or MovieArk and find good series and movies. I prefer movies based on true stories and historical events to learn a bit of history, even if there's a bit or a lot of fiction in them. I also like sci-fi and fantasy movies, as they're a way to daydream.

The movie I chose today is set during World War II, it's called Mothers of the Third Reich, and so far, it presents an interesting aspect of the war because it shows the war from the perspective of Alsatian women who were forced to work for the Nazis.

That's all I can say for now, since I'm watching it right now, and I'll have to restart the movie to give it my full attention so I can make a proper review later.

He mentioned so many great films, and I don't mind watching films or series at all. The interesting thing is that, depending on when you watch it, it could be the seasons or simply because you are a few years older, you see the same story in a completely different light. I usually watch films during the Christmas holidays, so in December or actually during the winter, because then we can spend the day indoors and we stay inside longer. This year, I haven't done much of that, but I'll happily join you. It's great that there are all these free streaming sites where you can watch films.
I don't watch war films anymore, and it's not about the Second World War anymore, because we haven't learned a thing from it, as we can see now that we're in the Third World War. The only interesting thing you can learn from these wars is that many countries always play the same role. It's always the same country that starts the war, it's always the same countries that are the victors, it's always the same country that has to be destroyed and robbed and has to surrender.

Totally agree—I think that as we mature, we give things a different interpretation, even those meant for entertainment, like movies.

For example, a week ago I rewatched Avatar after about 10 or 15 years. Honestly, I don’t remember the first time I saw it, but what once seemed like science fiction now struck me as a metaphor—and almost a manifesto—about the crimes committed by the great powers during the colonial period.

Maybe that was never the director’s intention, but that’s the reading I give it now, after having read a bit more about history—of course, not the official version they teach us in school, which, by the way, is not only biased but also very limited. That’s why I choose historical films: they’re a way to uncover topics that were never disclosed or perhaps were meant to be forgotten.

By the way, I can’t imagine a white winter, with days when you literally can’t go outside—though here, what keeps us indoors is the heat 🥵 We can always go out and enjoy an open-air sauna 😆

I once heard that Hollywood is inspired to make films about certain themes, thereby brainwashing humanity or perhaps preparing it for what is to come. The interesting thing is that much of this has come true, for example, so-called deadly viruses that lead to lockdowns and so on.
Science fiction is quite a strange thing. One moment you see it and think: build it, and the next moment, when you look again, well, that moment of being apart later, you think: what nonsense they have come up with. It will partly be a mix of the truth, of what has already been described in certain books, including Nostradamus, with a touch of fantasy. And as far as history is concerned, I think it changes about every 10 years, and then another twist is added. Then criminals suddenly become heroes and heroes suddenly become criminals. I think Avatar is particularly well made, especially part 1, and I found that impressive. I also like talking to ancestors. This is also common in Germanic culture and among the Celts.
We had a children's programme on television called De Fabeltjeskrant. It lasted about 5 minutes and featured puppets that had certain characteristics. These puppets all represented a different animal species. As the years passed, this 5-minute programme became increasingly controversial and toddlers and preschoolers were brainwashed. You name it, it was included, such as immigrants, discrimination, the end of the world, wars, you name it. I don't think that's right. Just nice stories about animals, keep it general, why does there have to be something behind it? This is also quite common at Disney, by the way.

Since you have a large outdoor sauna, you must be in excellent health and have sweated out all the toxins. What do you do all day indoors? The same as me?

Hollywood has enough strange stories that it is more than possible that it is a simple instrument of mass manipulation. There's something called Negative Primate, which is a tool they use to brainwash us, and I think it works pretty well, the pandemic was a great experiment, and they managed to bring the world to a standstill by a disease that wouldn't have killed as many people as experimental treatments did. Haha well, I hope that although in that aspect the heat is beneficial, because sometimes it is really unbearable. I spend a lot of time inside because to live I have a small grocery store, and you have to be almost 24 hours a day to the point that you can't even eat in peace hehe but that's a small business in which you are from the cleaner to the shopping manager.

Ah, the good old days of COVID, lockdowns, and the incredible hatred towards anyone who wasn't vaccinated. Where are all those hate mongers now who said that the unvaccinated would drop dead within a few weeks?

My world didn't stand still, only my car did, because I couldn't get it inspected. I found it strange that an acquaintance said the worst thing that happened to her during that period was that she couldn't go to the hairdresser. Well, if that's the worst thing that can happen to you.

I think you would be shocked if you found out how many people have died or become seriously disabled as a result of vaccinations. Experiments have been going on since 1917, and people think it's perfectly normal and seriously believe that such a vaccination works better than their own immune system. They don't understand that deliberately making yourself ill is an attack on the immune system.

It sounds like you're not bored indoors, at least. Building something yourself is hard work, but also something to be proud of.

If people's biggest problem was not being able to go to the hair salon, this would be a happy world. In the meantime, we will always be guinea pigs, because vaccines are not the only way of experimenting. Meanwhile, I hope no one from the CIA is reading us.
