Climb to Kablar mountain - beautiful viewpoint, wild nature and beautiful stories!

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

When I just remember. :) It was a wonderful, but also a strenuous experience.
Kablar is not a high mountain, it has an elevation of 889 meters above sea level, but it has heavy trails with a great ascent. But you forget everything when you get to the top, and to one of the most beautiful viewpoint in Serbia, from where you can see the meanders of the West Morava River.

There are many well-marked trails leading to the top, some are longer and some shorter, it depends on how you want to walk. We chose a path that goes along the anchoress of Saint Sava and it took us about 4 hours to reach the top.

At the beginning, we cross the bridge and the West Morava.
In Serbia there are many rivers bearing the name Morava, but in other Slovenian countries there are toponyms bearing this name too. It comes from a goddess from the Slovenian mythology - Morana. She was the goddess of death, winter and darkness. All the rivers that are called Morava are rashness nature , they rapidly bloom, they spring out,t hey pour out of their riverbeds, and leave behind the desert.

Somewhere above is our goal.

I have to admit that I was not in good shape at the time, my child then had about six months. I was exhausted, but such a walk was necessary for me. But the view of this mountaineer has comforted me :)

The road to the top was interesting. We picked up a Achillea millefolium - medicinal plant. On one of them there was this lovely fairy horse. At the beginning we thought he wasn't alive, because he didn't move. When we photographed these fairy horse, he woke up and just flew away.

We also enjoyed in these wonderful mushrooms.

There are many monasteries in this part of Serbia. Along the road we visited the anchoress of Saint Sava. It is believed that once there the Saint Sava, as an expositor, lived in in these walls. Since there was no water, St. Sava prayed to God and the water came out of the wall. "Water Saint Sava" runs even today. It is believed to be healing.

And finally, after a long walk, we reached the top. The top of Kablar is marked with a stone slab. It contains a map for lovers of view from Kablar. At the center of this map is the top of Kablar. Network of lines, numbers and legends shows other significant mountains, the height of their peaks and larger cities in the surrounding area.

From the top of the Kablar there is a wonderful view of the nearby Ovcar Mountain, which is higher than the Kablar is, but it is easier to reach it's peak. Between these two mountains there is a beautiful cliff of the West Morava.

It was a wonderful day.
We went fast from the mountain and returned to the coast of the Western Morava River, happy that the goddess Morana was in the mood in that day:)
