CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SOUL

in #sc-v5 years ago (edited)

The characteristics of the soul are compared to those of the ass. The ass is: disobedient, stubborn, willful, selfish, boastful, egotistical, insecure, rude, exhibitionist, rebellious, proud and arrogant. This nature needs to be renewed and transformed.

There are two types of life: The life of the Spirit, which in the original Greek is the word "zoe" and the life of the soul that is "psuke". The soul needs to be changed or we will not be able to enjoy the abundant life of God.
We have to learn to have control over our soul. The psalmist said:
"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and bless my whole being with his holy name. Bless, my soul to Jehovah, and do not forget any of its benefits. He is the one who forgives all your iniquities, the one who heals all your ailments ».
Psalm 103.1 3
The soul must be under the control of the renewed spirit in Christ.
Will: is the facet of a person where the ability to decide resides. The human being is a moral agent, free to choose between good and evil. The Will is the force that opens and closes every act of choice in our life, including thoughts, the passions and emotions. The will of man is the area that works together with our mind and emotions. It's where you It gives us the ability to decide what we want to be and do. Being saved or condemned does not depend on God, but on the person because it is an act of will to receive Christ or reject him. It is with the will that man decides to reject, receive, choose or reject something, and this includes thoughts, passions and emotions.
Man has a sovereign will to choose to do good or bad. Man decides to serve God or the devil. God does not have prisons in heaven; that is why it is so important to deal with our old will to do what God likes.
With the will, the man is formed according to what he thinks and according to his experience in the environment where it develops, emotionally and culturally. All this determines what man will be. The unregenerate man will always be inclined to sin against God.
For example, disobedience is an act of our own will. The word of God says: "the soul that sins will surely die." Why are we often unable to stop doing something if we own our own will? Because the unrenewed mind constantly sends thoughts to emotions that are not subject to the spirit. Then, the mind and emotions try to seduce the human will. For this reason, man does not
can stop doing the things that you know are
unpleasant before God.
God has placed in the life of man a barrier that He himself does not pierce; This is called will. This barrier also can not cross the enemy. If it gains ground in our lives, it is because we, with our sovereign will, have
permitted.
The will of man is divided into: decision, intention, purpose, choice and desire. That is where decisions, intentions, purposes, and desires originate. Always doing what we want is the essence of rebellion. When a believer does not renew his will, he will always want to satisfy the desires of the flesh.
How do we deal with our will?
• Rendering it
• Break it
• Emptying and filling it with the will of God
How do we surrender our will?
The word of God speaks of certain terms that teach us that surrendering our will is an act of choice. Scripture uses terms, such as: Renounce - This word means: "to be dead to" To be stripped - This alludes to getting rid of something
bad, like the old man is.
"As for the past way of life, cast off the old man, who is tainted according to deceitful desires, and renewed in the spirit of your mind, and clothed in the new man, created according to God in righteousness and holiness of truth » Ephesians 4.22-24
Remove "Take away from you all bitterness, anger, anger, crying, and slander, and all malice. " Ephesians 4.31

God's desire for us is that we human beings with these three parts are vessels to contain and express it. As we have seen, God's purpose is to enter into our spirit and fill it with himself. When we believe in Jesus Christ, He comes to live in us as our new life. He is in our spirit as a new Person within us so that He will be expressed in our whole being: spirit, soul and body. All this happens when we receive him in our spirit and we are regenerated, or born again.
