Social studies lesson 6: Citizenship and Naturalization
My participation in social studies lesson 6: Citizenship and Naturalization by @udyliciouz
In everyday life we often hear and see various associations that are very well organized with structural and functional management structures ranging from leaders to members who will carry out their duties according to the given roles. When viewed in terms of models and systems run by an organization, it is almost similar to what has been carried out by a country. A country ruled by a leader. In this case it can be said that the president is like in my country Indonesia. or kingdoms whose leaders are called kings and so on.
Talking about a country certainly cannot be separated from the word citizen. because it is not called a state, if there are no citizens. A citizen is someone who occupies and resides in a country. A simple example, when a person lives and settles in a village, he is called a villager. when someone lives and settles in the city, it is called a citizen of the city. so. People and places are an inseparable unit. Another example. I am one of the people who become part of a population and become part of the Indonesian state. As an Indonesian citizen, I have rights and obligations. so. The definition of a citizen is a person or group of people who inhabit the territory of a country. Besides that, it is also necessary to understand, because I was born, raised, and settled in Indonesia, I am called a native Indonesian citizen.
On the contrary.
Foreign nationals. (Wna call our people for foreigners). Are those who wander and live in a country with certain needs that are recognized by a country in accordance with applicable law. Just like in our country, there are students studying and workers from abroad living here. They acquire unofficial Indonesian citizenship and have rights and obligations while living in Indonesia. However, the rights and obligations of native citizens differ from those of foreign nationals.
5 basic characteristics of a citizen.
Defend the country.
The form of defending the country is determination, the attitude of citizens who are imbued with their love for the country.Honor.
One of the basic characteristics of a good citizen is having respect for fellow citizens, especially in the context of the plurality of various ethnic groups, ancestry, and religions.Have a sense of responsibility to maintain harmony and public order.
Honest.
Having honest nature and attitude for citizens is something absolute.Cooperate.
This is one of the characteristics possessed by Indonesian citizens. citizens are able to carry out joint activities voluntarily, so that these activities feel smoother, easier, and lighter so as to create cooperation, concern, and want to share with the surrounding environment
3 advantages of having a stranger in our midst.
Can learn foreign languages.
Different countries of course the language is also different. We can learn foreign la+nguages when foreign nationals are in our place, we can learn directly. no need to learn from books, courses or hire a private tutor.
We can ask him to help study.
That way we will be able to learn and practice it directly while facilitating communication with him. Our foreign language skills will develop faster in this way compared to learning from books alone. Can train yourself to be wiser.
The presence of foreigners in our environment can be a place for us to learn and practice adapting so that we are more sensitive and can respect and appreciate differences in language, background and lifestyle.Add new experiences.
one of the most pleasant things about making friends with foreign nationals is being able to learn, know and will discover many different things from our country. also will definitely get a lot of new experiences.
3 Disadvantages of having a stranger in our midst.
Get carried away by them.
We have never known and know the background of someone who just came to our place. is he a drunk, is he a criminal, or maybe he has a contagious disease. so being too hasty in making friends with strangers without going through a filter can get into their habits or pose a risk.Ask for advice and advice.
There is nothing wrong with sharing complaints with strangers. but cultural and religious factors need to be considered. Foreigners aim to help us provide a solution to a problem, but the solution given is against our culture and religion. they don't mean anything bad.Narrow job opportunities.
The denser the population, the tighter the competition for life. It can also be said that with the presence of foreigners or the more foreigners, the narrower the job opportunities for the natives. especially if the natives do not have quality in their work. This shows a loss for the indigenous population because the smaller the yield of natural wealth that can be enjoyed by the indigenous population.
