I Quit my Job with 6500 $ Salary per Month - My Story!

Hey Guys,

How did I get a job with a quite high salary? After I get my Academy Degree I applied myself for a Job in a Swiss Company in Switzerland. Job Interview went fine and there were no reasons anymore not to move to Zürich to begin to work. I was the lucky one who was able to join their team.

I can t say if I really wanted that job or if I was just lazy to apply myself for other companies. I think I was just too lazy, cause it was my first job interview and I get that job without problems. It was minimum effort and maximum success. And I didn t think twice after I get to know that my salary will be circa 6500 $ per month. The Company even payed me an apartment not far away from work the first three months. A cleaning woman was included. It was luxury, yes.

Cleaning Staff sorted my cosy toys on my bed :D

My moving from Germany to Switzerland was on the first September 2011. First working day was on the third of September 2011. I had exactly two days to register myself as a citizen of Zürich. A few days later I get my ID that is called "Ausländerausweis" , if you will translate it in english it means "Foreigner ID". Quite funny, isn t it :) ?

That s how my ID was looked like

I get flowers and swiss honey on my first day at work. I was able to get to know my office colleague. This day I really remember way too good. I just went into her office, I saw a lady in her mid forties crying and yelling around: " The pressure at work is just way too much for me, I can t handle it anymore!" I just thought: It is a very motivated welcoming :D I just said:, "Hallo, thank you for flowers and swiss honey!" She mentioned embittered: "Every newcomer in this company get the same present, don t try to feel special!" I did not react to her rudeness and just looked around at the rooms and got my first impressions of the company.

I always had to program and to sell the same numbers of technique devices every month. Work pressures were seriously very high and it was not possible to reach your given sales target. My crying colleague was sometimes nice but sometimes aggressive, sometimes she even get in panic. She liked to yell at colleagues that no one reached their sale targets. She through crumpled paper on me. But I knew she is just very desperately and I never feel fury for her. On the next day she said usually sorry. I felt very sorry for her, how unfulfilled has to be her life?

We had to work 50 til 60 hours per week. Overtime was not payed and you could not use it for free time. You just had to reach your sales targets. Biggest Boss was observing us all the time and there was no trust at all. I had just 20 days vacation per year. Two of these 20 days were mandatory, it means for me, at the end I just had 18 days vacation per year. Contract conditions were changed very often. If you would want to have a longer weekend and you planed to take a day off on Monday or Friday, that was not possible, it was forbidden. Just day offs between Tuesday and Thursdays were possible.

In addition, I had to cheat on my customers to sell more devices. It was no longer morally correct.

Me in bed after work, can you see my mobile phone next to me, it wasn t even a smart phone heheh :D

Everyday I get a more and more bad mood at work. At night I just slept 2 or 3 hours. And I decided to leave the company after one year work experience. I decided to move back to Germany and search a new way for my life.

I never regret this decision! Money is making life a little bit easier but Money is not making us happier! I had to choose: Money, no friends, no family, just stress and almost no spare time. Or I could choose my old life in Germany: Less Money, family and friends around, less stress and more spare time. Still it was a nice experience, work -and personally wise. It was not the right company for me, colleagues were just coming and going. Some of them land even in psychiatries with Born-Out. I was happy to end this part of my life.

Money motivates some people, other's are motivate by following their dreams and passions. Sounds like you know which one you are. :)

Yes I am happy to was able to find it out which kind of person I am, thank you very much for your warm post ,wish you the best :-) :-) :-)

Great story, my husband went through the same pressures at work along with horrible managers and a greedy IPO. I'm glad you survived and you didn't suffer too much trauma. My husband works for himself now, makes far less money but is much happier and healthy.

Thank you very much for taking time to read my story,.. yes some companies can make people just sick, one of my friend he get very depressive , he was two years in a hospital, it was a sad story for all of our friends, I am glad your husband found also his way to be happy and healthy. That s what count in life , greetings Lena

:D yes also stress, but a positive stress, I love kids !! :)

I support your decision Lena! I am sorry for the pressure you got on the work, but unfortunately that`s how it goes. My boyfriend was working in a company where there was a high pressure for reaching targets, so I know how you felt. You should be proud for making this decision at this time, while you are still young. Some people waste entire life without realizing what actually matters. Up vote and follow for this, and good luck in future ! :)

Thank u very much for your warm words and taking time to read my story, yeah better to end something faster than never, and not to do the same mistake again,I wish the best, greetings lena

Thank you, I wish the best for your future plans too! :)

I can't imagine having to deal with that level of stress. No amount of money would be worth it. What is the point of money when you have no time to enjoy it?

exactly, this is the point, there is no sense to work like a donkey :) .. thank you very much for taking time to read my story, greetings from Germany Lena !!

Hope you don't mind I was looking over your profile, I notice you are using the "convert to steem" option on SBD's.

You're losing money doing this! You will get over 30% more money if you just transfer your SBD to an exchange and sell for Bitcoin.

ok thank you very much, I am not that familiar to this platt form , I will research , thank you for the hint, Steemit Jungle :)

An amazing experience. I am amazed with your life

well the big step... congratulations on the courage and all the best on the journey !

Thanks for your warm words, wish you the best, greetings lena
