±1 hectare of residents' land overgrown with bushes burned, the incident occurred in Cot Gapu Village, Kota Juang District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, Monday, 3/3/2025.
Three fire brigade units from the Bireuen Main Post were deployed to the scene to extinguish the fire. According to information, the fire was initially thought to have been caused by residents burning garbage in the morning.
By noon, the fire was thought to have been completely extinguished and the residents were resting. However, suddenly the fire flared up and spread, causing thick smoke when it burned the bushes. Three fire engines intervened to extinguish the fire that burned the bushes near the bamboo grove.
The Village Head (Keuchik) of Cot Gapu, M Nasir Abdullah said that he did not know exactly what happened. The information he received, said Keuchik Nasir, was that initially someone burned garbage and the fire was thought to have been extinguished.
Suddenly in the middle of the hot weather, thick smoke appeared and flames soared high that it made residents panic. Three fire trucks arrived at the location and immediately put out the fire.
Firefighters poured water over the entire area. The burned area reached ±1 hectare. The area is close to several residents' houses, so the firefighters carried out thorough cooling so that the fire would not reappear.
