Acting (Pj) Regent of Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, Jalaluddin, SH MM emphasized that the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Bireuen Regency Government (Pemkab) should not be involved in practical politics.

The affirmation was conveyed by the Acting Regent of Bireuen, Jalaluddin, when supervising the joint assembly of the ASN neutrality pledge in order to welcome the simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) in 2024 which was combined with the reading of the joint oath and signing of the oath, at the Kapuspemkab field, Gampong Cot Gapu, Kota Juang District, Monday, 14/10/2024.

The Acting Regent in the assembly was also attended by the Chairman of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) Rahmad, and the Chairman of the Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslih) Agusni and the commissioners also said that

"The essence of this joint assembly as conveyed in the pledge is our promise that we have heard together earlier about what is allowed and what is prohibited in order to face the 2024 Pilkada," he said.

It is expected that ASN will not take sides, slander, or convey bad things about a candidate pair. Then they will not use social media unwisely, and will not convey intimidating words, mention or support a candidate pair. "This means we are neutral," he said.

The Acting Regent said that all ASN have the right to vote, but it must be adjusted not to be supporters, being active supporters or real support for a candidate pair is prohibited because our status is an ASN.

"So let's all guard and hopefully in Bireuen there will be no violations regarding the Pilkada, we are just professionals, we are not allowed to be involved in practical campaigns, we are not allowed to go on stage, we are not allowed to continue accompanying a candidate pair," said Jalaluddin.

"I hope that it will be properly maintained because this is the image of ASN, hopefully there will not be a single report to me, this is also an emphasis of the central government, if a report has been received of ASN violating neutrality, I must follow up on it, if I do not follow up on it, then I will be prosecuted," said the Acting Regent.
