Review: The End of the F***ing World

in #movie8 years ago

A couple of teenagers decide to leave everything behind after realizing they hate their lives and family. They form a typical mismatched and strange pair in the eyes of others and themselves.

Together, they want to totally change the apathetic and bland routine they lead. Without struggling to reach their ambitions, they leave a trail of crimes that can stop them at any time.

This is the synopsis of the plot of the new British series by Netflix, The End of the F * ing World, based on the comics of Charles Forsman. Last weekend, I did a marathon of all the episodes. In all, there are eight in 20 and a few minutes each. At first, I did not really like the plot, I found it too sad. Gradually, I became interested in and letting myself be carried away by the rapidity of each chapter full of discoveries. In the end, I just had the doubt about a possible continuity.

The End of The F * ing World is a British production of Channel 4 - the same as the two early seasons of Black Mirror

Loaded with black humor, the series brings a good analysis of human behavior. The sad contexts of the stories are perfect for this. The soundtrack in the 1950s and 1960s rocked those moments.

Alex Lawther (Black Mirror) and Jessica Barden (Penny Dreadful) interpret the troubled teenage couple. Their acting is very good, as well as the other actors. The series premiered on January 5.
