How we survive in our long and cold Siberian winter! ;)
Hi! In fact I'm going to tell and to show you how we make canned cucumbers. ;) Just today I've done it.
That's how we grow cucumbers in Siberia.
So, first you need to wet them and leave for some hours in cold water.
Prepare the jars. Wash them, put in an oven, switch it on and let them heat there for about 20-30 minutes. After switching off the oven, let them get cold there. Don't open the oven!
Prepare pepper, horseradish leaves, dill, leavels of black currant and cherry. Wash them, cut and pour over with boiled water.
Wash cucumbers two times.
Put all prepared greens on the bottom of the jars and start filling them with the cucumbers. Don't forget to cut the ends.
Prepare the pickle.
For 2 liters water you need:
4,5 tablespoon of sugar
2 tablespoon of salt
several leaves of bay leaf and some black pepper.
Put it all in a pan and let it boil.
Add 2,5 tablespoon of 70% acetic acid.
Pour your cucumbers with this boiled pickle.
Asepticize the jars in hot water about 10 minutes each after boiling. Don't forget to put some clothes on the bottom of the pan.
Close the jars and leave your cucumbers in a warm place for a night.
The next day put down the jars in the basement and wait for winter to taste this perfect canned cucumbers! ;)
These are some of our stocks for winter. ;)
Now you know how tasty we spend our about 5 months long Siberian winter! ;)
Thank you for your attention! ;)
