Antonio José de Sucre en toda su trayectoria de vida fue pieza estratégica y valiosa para la independencia de 5 naciones Sur Americana. A este se le celebra tanto en su pais natal, Venezuela, como el el lugar que lo vio morir, Ecuador....

Soy de la tierra de Sucre
debajo de mis pies mi herencia
como india, negra, criolla
en resistencia y con paciencia.
Alegre en tu llegada y nostalgia a tu partida
alegre yo en tierra de historia viva
Sucre mi gente
Sucre mi tierra
Sucre mi idea
