Chital fish is one of the most important fish species in our country. This fish is commonly found in large rivers and plays a crucial role in fulfilling our dietary needs.

Currently, chital fish farming is increasing in our country. In various rivers, designated areas are enclosed with nets, and chital fish fry are released into these areas. Over time, these fry grow into large chital fish.

The body of the chital fish is elongated and laterally compressed. The front part of its back is prominently curved, while its ventral side remains relatively straight. The head is slightly flattened, with a large mouth and a distinct chin. The fish's body color is yellowish, and it can grow over 100 centimeters in length. Some specimens have been recorded at 103 centimeters in length and weighing up to 10 kilograms.

Due to their large size, chital fish are highly in demand in the market. Since a single fish can provide food for multiple people, it holds significant commercial value.
