Lessons On: Radiation Pattern Lobes: Electronics & Communication Engineering
Hello and welcome to my post Steemians!!
Today I am writing my post about Radiation Pattern Lobes. In my post by reading different sources and collecting information I tried to give the detailed information about the project and how it will going to work. Apart from that your thoughts and opinions heartily welcome!
Let us visit the post to know more about it!!
Different parts of the Radiation Pattern are referred to as lobes. This may be sub-classified as:
- Major Lobe.
- Minor Lobe.
- Side Lobe.
- Back Lobe.
A Radiation Lobe is a portion of a radiation pattern bounded by regions of relatively Radiation Intensity. This is shown in the figure above.
Although, all are known as lobes but some are having greater Radiation Intensity and some are lesser radiation intensity which are categorized as following:
- Major Lobes: It is also called as main beam and is defined as the radiation lobe containing the direction of maximum radiation.
- Minor Lobes: It is any lobe except a major lobe that is all the lobes except the Major Lobes are called as Minor Lobes.
Source - Side Lobes: It is a radiation lobe in any direction other than the main lobe. Normally, a side lobe adjacent to the main lobe and occupies the sphere in direction of the main lobe.
- Back Lobes: Normally, refers to a minor lobe that occupies the sphere in a direction opposite to that of the Major lobes as shown in the figure above.
