Unforgettable Hvitserkur - Imprinted by LightCaptured

in WORLD OF XPILAR20 days ago

If you search online for info about Hvitserkur in Iceland, you'll find plenty of photos and probably realize it's "just" a rock in the ocean in the Northern part of Iceland.

For me, however, that is a place I will never forget.

I spent there a whole afternoon, evening, I met the sunset and then waiting for the blue hour to expire.

But why "unforgettable"?

My other two travel-mates has left me alone there, down on the rocky shore to make my tens of long exposure photographs. Then, I had to climb up to where our car was parked and this wasn't easy, not at all. It was quite slippery and I was thinking that I will fall down and in the darkness, who knows what happens. Moreover, that is quite a solitary and remote spot, far away from any establishment.

It felt dangerous and when I finally got up to the car, I needed a shower as I was sweating, hehehe.

It was all worth it. I made lots of unique, to my taste, regular and long-exposure photos and I have that place, all to myself for several hours.

Nice, huh?

Check out the exposure time of the last photograph, if you're into Photography ;)

Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.

Wow!! That is quite spectacular!!! I can understand why it would have been an impressionable moment for your memory books.

Your work is really fantastic! I see you sell your work as stock photos. Have you ever considered selling editions as nfts as well? Photography is quit a popular genre.

Thank you so much!
I tried selling some stuff on OpenSea and Foundation, it was only a waste of money and time as I spent hundreds to get my registration fees, etc. and then sold nothing.
The real problem is I am kinda introverted and avoid the spotlights and people would buy any shit from someone famous, right :)

All of my NFTs there are exclusive 1/1 and not so expensive, I guess when I die they would have more investment value, lmao

Great photos, funny, this rock looks like a hyena drinking water from a puddle :)

That's a nice abstract of yours ;)
To me it looks like a giant guardian who's keeping the half of his face underwater ;)
Thank you!

Most of those photos are in the blue hour and after it, so I didn't need a ND filter, just the lowest ISO (100 or simulated 50 my camera has) and f/22 ;)

That rock formation is in a low populated area, only dirt roads there and a long drive is needed. Also, the steep shore... The photographer needs to be in a really good physical shape, I'd say :)

True, f/22 is a lot :) but with a great lens, the issues are only visible at 100% and in our modern days nobody uses such zoom on our screens, right.
I also live in a valley, no mountains nearby but that's the beauty of Bulgaria, 2-3 hours drive could take you everywhere - sea, mountain, cave, river...

In my humble Canon related experience, all "L" series lenses manage very well. In this case it was my 16-35mm f/2.8 Canon L lens. ;) It's not the latest generation and has some flaws but is still good value for its high price :)

Spring is the best time of the year to explore places, right ;)

I know personally a handful of great landscape Bulgarian photographers and two of them say that Sony bodies with Canon L-series lens is the best combo for landscapes. ;)
I had Sony camera in the past, excellent color management, it got stolen, unfortunately...

That is quite beautiful and strangely evocative, in an "otherworldly" sort of way. That's the beauty of Iceland, though... much of it feels like you are on a different planet.

True, so true. That's a feeling I have when traveling there, as it is a piece taken from another planet, so many different things...
