I bought a projector just so I could this sort of thing. Load images into a laptop and let her rip. You never know exactly what you'll get.

You definitely have to rock the mistake when doing this or you'll drive yourself crazy deciding whether is art or not. I don't worry about it too much, if it grabs me I know it's good.

I don't have time to worry about a slow shutter sometimes. Lately I've been doing this intentionally. Finding that right amount of drag in the shutter is important what the image wants to be.
