Hello I'm Linda and this is my introduction
I love to laugh. My writing reflects that aspect of my personality. I have my Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Missouri at Columbia. That training provides me a way of looking at life from various angles, cultures and perspectives, and helps provide some insights for my writing.
I grew up in Connecticut to immigrant parents. My mother came to America from Canada and my father was born in Sweden to an unmarried Polish mother. I was the first member of my family to graduate from college. It wasn’t easy since I was a single mother with 2 small children.
Married for over 40 years to my current husband, I have 2 grown sons and a beautiful Grandson. I am retired now, but I was the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Departments at Fleet Bank in Connecticut and then I was an SVP at The Kislak Corporation in Miami Lakes, Florida. I started my career at the University of Conn as the assistant Director of The Connecticut Poll. I also was an Associate Professor of Sociology at various Universities’ in Connecticut, Missouri and Florida.
My husband and I have traveled extensively throughout our marriage. I love to travel because it’s a way to meet people, explore new cultures, and to recheck and rebalance my belief systems. My beliefs are not in a stationary place but flow as I experience new thoughts or meet new people.
Our latest adventure is that we have become American expats currently living in Coronado, Panama. We have lived here for a year. Prior to that we lived in Costa Rica for a year. Before that, we sold everything we owned to become nomads. We love our life. We might stay in Panama for a while but who knows, we are free to explore wherever we want to go.

Hey, Linda! I'm also new to Steemit! What type of content are you thinking of uploading?
I love photography and to travel so I guess a mix of both. What are you planning to focus on?
Hi Linda, welcome to Steemit from another Lynda. I joined Steemit awhile back and got distracted with yard stuff and who knows what so haven't been on it much til lately. Have been coming back and looks like it's developing nicely. Have been curious about Panama, so will watch for more info on the 'expat life'. ~ljl~
Hi Lynda,
I've only been on Steemit for about 2 months. I like the platform and have meet some great people. We've lived in Panama for about 18 months now. Before that we lived for a year in Costa Rica. Having a great time understanding the new culture.
I must follow another Lynda!
