Why China will not replace The United States as the next superpower anytime soon

in #china5 years ago

If you have been in discussion with the Chinese state sponsored trolls, you probably heard the argument that the United States is putting sanctions on China to decrease China's rise to becoming the next superpower.

These trolls are paid for by the Chinese Communist Party to influence popular opinion in western countries and and other places such as India, Russia and Japan.

The main reason this argument is flawed is because China is not a free and open country. Most skilled people are not likely to immigrate to China for jobs or working on new technological innovations. Phd's and scientists are not flocking to China.

That's why China is only good at copying stuff not building them. In the end, China's own policies will prevent it from becoming a superpower.

Recently China opened up some of its universities to overseas students. They're trying to gather talented students from across the world. But so far this policy has not shown any noticeable results.

China will continue to copy western technologies and they aren't going to become the next superpower with their copied weapons and products.

Sort:

As an American expat living in China's third-world capital, with children living under the constant threat of China redrawing their "sovereignty" line around the Philippines and doing the same thing to my family that they did to Tibet and Xinjiang, I have devoted almost my entire blog here on Steemit to three points:

  1. China is evil as Hell,
  2. China is nowhere near powerful enough to replace the US (and was never really on track to be powerful enough),
  3. The illusion of power is giving China more power than it would otherwise have.

They still can't compete in semiconductors.

The reason why China is not to become the next one is the Blockchain era, otherwise would be just matter of time before it takes over!

China severely stands behind in technology. The only thing it has going for itself is its large population. Also, China lacks natural resources. There is no way China could become the strongest without superior tech.

China will not overcome the tech issue with just numbers.
