The Scars of Life

I don't know how you may feel when you look at majestic trees that show the scars along their trunks and branches where they have been cut or damaged over the years - for myself, I look in wonder at how they have healed themselves and have continued to grow.

If a tree was able to communicate with us, I wonder what advice it would give us in overcoming life's hard knocks - and these knocks are clearly visible - a lightening strike, storm damage, drought, vandalism and much more - and yet, despite all of this, it manages to heal itself and continue to grow.

I ask myself, what is it that a tree can do this despite what life throws at it.

As humans, our bodies also show the scars that life has given us - some have faded away and some are clearly visible to remind us of the time when we became injured.
However, there are also scars that are within our bodies - scars that we cannot see, yet they can cause pain and discomfort and cause us to look for medical advice.

Learning to listen to our bodies and how we feel is probably the first step to healing.
Disease is exactly what the word means - i.e. dis - ease - the body is not functioning as it should be due to a variety of reasons like unhealthy food, lack of exercise, pollution and so on.
I believe that the body is able to heal itself so long as we are able to eradicate the influences that are causing the dis - ease.

The next time you go out for a walk, take time to look at the trees that tower above us - with many scars - and yet are standing tall and majestic and flourishing despite everything.

Open wounds are easier to heal than mental scars laying deep within, either way in nature signals are given, or hints on how to heal oneself.

Have a wonderful week ahead and keep smiling.
